Yeah, come play us in basketball!

Only if you can promise your coach will not throw a gargantuan hissy fit, which, based on football, baseball and wrestling coaches I and colleagues have seen personally, does not sound like a safe promise to make.

SJF's offense runs the routes the same vs Zone or Man.  There will be someone open vs each defense.

Wow.  Then they are the only team in america.  These are basics of an offense.  So how does a sit route get open against a man defense?  What about cover 3 vs. cover 2 or cover 4 defenses?  It still doesnt change?  Just because it doesnt diagram that in the playbook does not mean that it is not understood between coaches and players that there are conversions vs. different defenses.  Otherwise you dont account for a d's weakness.  I think you are very wrong.

Sarge... either he didnt play offense.. or he's messin with you

At first I was flabergasted (yes, flabbergasted) but then I realized that he is either a lineman or has never played offense.

I couldn't promise Teddy Fiore at MSU wouldn't throw fits and I have not seen Marc Brown as a head coach at NJCU yet but if he is like his father he would display nothing but class and grace.

Not speaking for Max, but I think you guys are talking about different schools.  I am pretty sure Max is talking MSU and KS is talking NJCU.

MSU coaches tend to be as Max described but Teddy is funny when he gets goin.  The best among the NJAC basketball coaches is Chuck McBreen at Ramapo, the Irish in him really shows, especially when he starts to get mad.  He starts to get Scanner head.

unless your son is a senior on the Bombers, stay home. It wont be worth the trip. You should trust someone who knows both programs. It will be ugly, and it will be ugly quick. E8 doesnt really prepare you for the machine. HONESTLY, leaving emotion out of it, Raiders 44 bombers 0 at halftime.

Yikes!!!!!!!!  FIVE pages of Utica College talk......Makes me miss the MUC guys.

You'd rather have guys basically saying: Don't bother coming out to Ohio, we'll kick your ass anyways.

UC talk it is, man.

Ok guys, lets work another angle. The forcast is edging towards snow flurries and wind for Saturday....or saterday however you guys like to say it. Does that change the game plan significantly for Ithaca? MUC stadium is known to be pretty blustery for the playoffs and the kicking game suffers because of it. The passing game too, just not as much. Will that matter much to you guys? Will it sway the outcome at all? Just recently we have seen well hit punts literally stall out and go for little yardage. That set up some pretty short drives for MUC. Field position may be a key to success this weeekend. The flags on the uprights at both  ends may even be blowing in opposite directions at the same time on occasion.

Honestly, how can you NOT be up for this game? Its the playoffs. You are in. Back your boys! Im sure they will appreciate you in the stands making a little noise on their behalf.  Sadly but truely, sometimes the opponents cheerleaders are actually cheering to the Mount Union fans because their fans dont bother to show up for the games. Anything can happen in a football game, you might even witness an upset.Who knows?

If there are any IC players or coaches reading this board, check out this smug excuse for journalism from IC's Playoff Capsule:

How far can they go?   I think you know what the answer is.

That oughtta get your dander up.

Go Bombers!

I think weather like that would not faze Ithaca at all, basically the same weather they get in upstate ny.

yeah the cold/snow shouldn't be a problem at all for the bombers.

If the wind is that bad, it could really hurt IC's already mediocre kicking game.  Poor punting and 2 missed PAT's were really the only poor spots from Cortaca.

Upstate:
FYI- even though the signals may be similar, ever since the new coordinator came in a lot of the offense is based on sight adjustments.  Kramer is usually getting two plays called at one time and is calling the right one based on the defense that is in front of them.  (Very Peyton Manning like)

Ever since you graduated we have put tons of variations to the plays that you played with (I'm sure you remember Frisco, dart and what not)

So to make the Fisher offense look like it is very basic is a drastic understatement b/c it has evolved so much over the last few years due to work between the recievers, qb's backs and coaches that it no way resembles that of '03 or '04.

Still love ya though big guy  ;)

Ahh that feels a little better.  So instead of adjusting routes on the fly, (because they see the adjustments immediately with how the d aligns) they have the correct play called.  Now this brings me to my next question though.  What if the qb calls one play, say vs. what he sees as a cover 2, then the D rolls to a cover 3, or vice versa?  Are there conversions then if the qb is incorrect, does the play always stand, or is the qb expected to be good enough to make the correct call 90% of the time?
I spent a brief stint as backup qb while playing wr one year at AU when we didnt have one.  I'd drop back and it all looked like a sh!tstorm.  They gave up when I just took off on every play.

I don't think anybody from IC needs any help getting up for this game.  We'll see what everyone (myself included) is saying after Saterday.

You guys are rubbing off on me.

Man Utica is getting a lot of Pub today, DewCrew must be a happy man.

Speaking of Utica, the town was mentioned in an episode of the Office a couple weeks ago.  Karen was the manager of the Utica Branch, and it even showed a sign showing Mohawk Valley commerce or something.  Utica on the map!  Holler!

bosox- u may want to see the uc campus now.
much different than it used to be.
and what is wrong with the area?

Perhaps Bosox does not embrace the culturally and racially diverse atmosphere that we enjoy at UC, I personally welcome it.

Good point, Add. Something I had forgotten in my last post.

Everything you said was great... and I wish UC the best... except for this comment that you agreed with.... I dont embrace culturally and racially diverse atmosphere's?  Thats just stupid
