I'd fall over if Lowell's name didn't show up in the Mitchell Report.

So you're saying you fully expect it to be on it?

with A Rod essentially off the market, it  will be interesting to see if the Sox fall back in love with Mike Lowell.

I don't think they were ever planning on going after A-rod that hard.

They made Lowell what is a strong offer in their eyes - Theo can be pretty rigid, so we'll see.

Trust me.  They were going after A-Rod hard.  Theo is going to be rigid on Lowell because he has maxed out his value.

Ortiz is another name I suspicous of, just because he was with minesota and did nothing and then went to Boston and went nuts.... I doubt he did anything but it's easy to be suspicous

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I wouldn't be so sure they were really pursuing him - everyone knows the affect he could have on a clubhouse. I'm sure they put some feelers out, but not balls to the wall.

The sox don't need anyone like that to disrupt what they have. Would his numbers be nice? sure... but I think they like the chemistry they have.

Seriously?  He was young and unrefined, and played a part-time roll in Minnesota.  He got to Boston, got to play a lot, and obviously played in a park more suitable for him.  I don't really suspect him whatsoever.  If you want to say he got HUGE and beaned out(which is extremely sarcastic), that's one thing, but don't compare his numbers as a young-en in MN.

Nope, not much at all.

Ortiz wasn't a part-timer in Minnesota.  The only thing that changed for him was hitting in front of Manny Ramirez.  Ortiz is much easier to pitch around when Cory Koskie/Doug Mietkiewicz/AJ Pierzynski are hitting behind him.  Without Manny, Ortiz is a slightly above average ballplayer.

Ortiz was playing for Tom Kelly who seemed to hate young talent.  Oops.

I can't wait for the Mitchell Report.  I assumed every team will represented except the Cubs, and we'll be handed the last couple World Series' by default!

I think that's BS Jose. Protection in the lineup doesn't matter all that much.

Why not?  Hitting fastballs in the strike zone is significantly easier than hitting breaking balls in the dirt.  Especially when you are a dead red hitter.

I found it interesting that a lot of teams pitched around Ortiz, the slightly above average ballplayer, to pitch to Manny.

If Lowell is smart he will resign with Boston, he won't put up those numbers in any other park.  The Sox will be smart to resign him, there isn't a better 3rd baseman out there even if his production slips a little.  Unless they want to give up young players for Cabrera from FL.
