HSC, I actually think that SJF, TCNJ, Hobart, RPI and Ithaca could/should have been seeded 2-6 in any order and most fans couldn't say anything negative.  They are all fairly evenly balanced and cliche aside could win any game.  Curry and Hartwick are the question marks to me.  Hartwick was incredible at home but are playing at Curry.  Whoever wins this will probably not make it past next saterday.

Others could probably give better recaps of individual teams.  I would also suggest heading to the LL, NJAC and NEFC boards and posting the same question.

Pep's E8 Post-Season Prognostications:

Mount Union 42, Ithaca 19 (Bombers prove they can climb the Mount but can't get over it.)
St. John Fisher 38, Hobart 35 (Fisher pulls out a barn-burner...hobart that?)
Hartwick 82, Curry 80 (5 OTs....basketball season has begun!)
Alfred 31, Rochester 20 (Saxons exterminate the yellowjackets)
Springfield...(Pride turn to the sport that Naismith invented)
Utica....(Downs UCs while watching post-season)
Norwich....(Drops and gives us 20--nah, the Cadets just drop out)

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Wow a lot of talk going on the boards tonight and I am going to stay away from the delightful conversation you guys are having.  I know this has been touched on briefly before but this weekend has big and potentially harmful implications to the E8.  It is quite the accomplishment to get 3 teams into the tournament and how those teams perform this weekend could effect future considerations.  Deep down where nobody wants to admit it I wouldn't be shocked if all 3 teams went one and done, giving the NEFC their first post season win in the process by the way.  Hartwick is an inconsistent team and also terrible on the road.  Ithaca is playing Mount Union.  Fisher is playing a talented team in Hobart who is on a big streak and it won't really be like an away game for them since it's only a half hour away and they will have a big crowd.  Of course I can also see scenarios in which the E8 justifies getting the 3 teams in.  For now I am cautiously optimistic and I hope we can prove the committee knew what they were doing because if those three teams don't all do well this will never come around again.

Great post, great points.  +k.

I've gotta be honest here, IC doesn't have a snowball's chance of putting up 21 on Mt. Unioin.

My picks forthcoming.

as i said before, i'm hoping that IC can give MUC a game, but having seen what MUC normally does to its first round opponents and that this is the best MUC team that i have seen in the past dozen years (close second to the '97 team), i'll go MUC 45  IC 7
They should have practiced harder.

In order for the Bombers to stay in the game, we'll obviously have to play a near-perfect, if not perfect, game.

Tomorrow's Weather at Kickoff:

12pm
Rain / Snow Showers
39°F
Will feel like 34°F
40% chance of precipitation

For the Bombers, this weather will seem like a home game.  I'm thinking the Bomber return teams are going to be big, and I am thinking we'll see a punt and/or kick return for a TD, along with one Bomber offensive score.

Good luck to Coach Welch, his staff and the Bomber players.  GO BOMBERS!

MIOH loves that most of the predictions are assuming that the bombers can make an extra point.

MIOH's wishful prediction:

Bombers - 22
MUC - 21

Since we are listing good omens for the boys in Blue I will add to the list:

-JU finds Wegmans card
-Bomber discovered on Welsh beach.
-Mt. Union is in Ohio.  We all know that Ohio football (and athletics in generally) are the kid brother of Florida Football.  I was saving this little tidbit for the end of the week so I will break it out now.  We all know that this guy is the patriarch of Bomber Football.  But, before building the original Beast of the East as a head coach, Jim Butterfield was a fullback at

The University of Florida.  Go Gators, Go Bombers.

Tebow does his Butterfield impression in trouncing some team from Ohio.

The Ghost of Butterfield to the rescue.

I never could work it out.  I am stuck with internet radio.

I may be heading to Butterfield's undergraduate stomping grounds to watch the UF-FAU bloodbath.

Q, what do you think about the impending match up with Illinois and Florida in the outback bowl?
