Sorry to bring up football again, but can I get an eastern perspective on the rest of the East Region teams?  It seems like SJF is the best of them, but by how much over Ithaca, RPI, Hobart, etc?

Reason I'm asking is I'm trying to judge how the winner of the MUC/Ithaca game will match-up with the rest of the region.

In the North Region, Whitewater's toughest game will be this week vs Capital, but in the East, I don't have a good read on the overall strength of the teams.

THANKS for the info.

You may now return to you previously scheduled banter.....

Well, having watched Alfred take on Hobart, Ithaca and Fisher these past 3 weeks (and Hartwick at the beginning of October) I would say that the first 3 are all very equal in talent.  Last year I would have said the same about Hobart, Ithaca and Springfield with Fisher demonstrably better.  So, I would say that Ithaca will represent a fair barometer of how the strongest East teams will perform in Alliance.  Hartwick has the ability to play with the best of the East at home, but has struggled on the road (they fell behind 36-19 to Alfred before rallying to lose 46-36 along with the well documented quadruple OT win at Utica last weekend and the loss to WNE to start the year).
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

clip and save:

Mount Union 31
Ithaca           -2  (in an effort not to run up their score, MUC allows IC to
take a -1 for each additional TD after the half)

RPI 20
TCNJ 16

CURRY 39
HARTWICK  37  (5 OT's...suprisingly it was 0-0 and the end of regulation)

The Saint John Fisher College Cardinals  28
HOBART  24

...actually   MUC 35
                  ITHACA  12

DING-DING...I was just kidding...I have been one of IC's andthe East in general, biggest supporters and defenders this week.  Please do not be offended by my, in jest, predictions...

In an effort to show unity against the Machine called MUC, I have temporarily switched my screen name...it will switch back upon the defeat of MUC at the hands of one of 'our' East region brethren...Ithaca, you are first...GO BOMBERS!!!

Just out of curiosity...what happens when Mount beats all challengers from the East?  Are you going to keep the name until a team from the East beats MUC?  That could be years potentially.

Interesting...I did contemplate that for about a second, and then I figured it is not entirely important to worry about it...in any event, SJF will at least have an early shot at MUC in the season opener next year...so maybe I will keep it until then should SJF and East Co. not take 'em down in this Regional play-off bracket.

This may be mentioned somewhere else around D3football.com but, I'll ask anyways.  If the #1 team in these brackets gets upset does the bracket name then change to the highest seed still standing?.... example MUC loses to IC and Fisher wins  the bracket is then named the St. John Fisher bracket.

I don't think it matters... it starts as the MUC bracket, so it's still the MUC bracket.

does mount union have a punter?

pep- good luck tom!

IC guys- safe travels to alliance
make the e8 proud

tags- will i see ya tom?

Mount's punter is actually very good (surprise, surprise).  He's only punted 21 times, inside the 20 ten times, with only one touchback.  You've got to figure that he is usually punting with a relatively short field in front of him.  It's not too often that the Mount O goes 3 and out deep in their own territory.  He really has quite a leg, but no opportunity to showcase it.
