How f-ing hard can that be?  You play a few CDs, throw a few LIFE magazines at them and presto, they know the Beatles.  Do I have to show you have to do every damn thing?

Haha +k on the LIFE Magazine reference.

More good news for bombers fans... MIOH was just checking Mt. Union's unofficial website and noticed that the Bombers edge the purple folks in every statistical category

Whatever your smoking that resulted in "seeing" that the Bombers edge the purple folks in every statistical category is stuff you'll need tomorrow in Mount Union Stadium.  However, MUS is a no smoking stadium - too bad.  You'll have to do with a dose of reality.  Exactly which categories, according to the unofficial MUC site, does Ithaca lead?

I think you need to read and comprehend again, this time take it nice and slow so you don't miss anything.

bambord- get new glasses, and maybe a sense of humor while you're at it.

on an unrelated note....

Pat:

"and with only 16 games that matter in Week 12 (sorry, ECAC bowl game teams),"

I mean, don't you think sentences like this undermine, um, a LOT of what DIII football is really all about? It's pretty snotty... I mean we're all DIII fans because we have a personal stake in something here. How annoying is it to hear DI fans talk about the "only games that matter (sorry DII and DII)"? As has been reiterated, everyone appreciates what you and the team do here. But the journalistic tone on this website is often pretty sarcastic and smug, and it can make for a pretty dismissive reading experience. I know it's a column, but, it's a column written by the guy that runs the website, which pretty much makes it the official website position.

I think the line you're trying to draw between D-I's treatment of D-III and D-III's treatment of the ECAC's is a little bit of a stretch. However, I do see where you're coming from.

I don't agree with it but it's certainly valid for some to care about the ECAC's. We just can't devote one second of time to them during the NCAA playoffs.

Max, what do you think about the yanks and A-Rod...

Well, he makes the Yankees a much better team, there's no doubt about that. To lock him up for ten years is a bit suspect, but it's not like they can't afford it... I'll be interested to see how front-loaded the contract is, I hope they won't be paying him $25 mil a year when he's 40.

It changes the landscape of the Yankees a lot... without him I was looking forward to them selling off Mo and Jorge for some hot young prospects and being an unbelieveable team in like five years with Hughes, Joba, Kennedy and maybe even Humberto Sanchez in the rotation. Now I hope they don't totally give up on rebuilding... that team in 2007 was DAMN lucky to even sniff the playoffs, they need to get younger if they want any kind of sustained success. But I like the idea of A-Rod and Jeter being the veteran glue.

Have you been reading how the Yankees want to sign Lowell to play first? Is that not the stupidest thing you've ever heard? The guy will not have another season with the bat like he did in 07, yet he remains by FAR the best third baseman in baseball. So you're signing him for his declining bat and putting him at first, when he plays third like a complete motherf***er? What the hell is up with that?

Also: BENCH DAMON. DAMON SUCKS. He was never that good, he was never worth the money, he's never been the best leadoff hitter on his own TEAM. He can't even run anymore! So he can't hit, he can't run, he never could throw... why the hell is this guy in the lineup every day??

Sigh. Rant over.

I would be ok with them signing Lowell, only for the fact that it will significantly hurt the Red Sox...and Lowell is one of those great clubhouse guys, which I think they need with out Torre, I would be ok if they traded Kennedy and Sanchez to get a shot at Santanna

Come on now -- baseball exists outside of Boston and New York. Johnny Damon was clearly the best leadoff hitter on the 1999 and 2000 Royals. :)

You'll find that with almost anyone when you're comparing to Jeter - he's one of the best to play the game. I think you're setting the bar a bit high there.

Well, 1) All I'm saying is Jeter should leadoff, I'm not saying Damon must be as good as him, and 2) the sentence "Jeter is one of the best to play the game".... I just don't know how to respond to that. Can you put him, somehow in the top 50? 100, maybe?

Now, Jeter is one of my favorite players and he's a great hitter and always has been... but he's also always been below-average to average at shortstop, and certainly not one of the greatest hitters ever to play....
