Fisher definately needs to get sharper on the offensive side of the ball.  We need to get back to taking what the defense gives us, and moving down the field methodically.  We also need to cut down on the turnovers and penalties.  Defense is looking great right now though.  They've been awesome against the run and the pass.  We will need that if we end up facing MUC once again.

What gives me hope, is that IC was very effective through the air against MUC today.  If we can get past Curry, I think we can give MUC all they can handle.  We should be able to pass the ball on them.  And if our defense plays as good as we have against the run, we should have a chance!

Hartwick doubled up by Curry 42-21.  How embarrassing to the E8 champion... However, nice win for Curry.

Thats rough, but if they didnt get the AQ, does Wick get in?

No. That would have been three losses if they fell at Utica.

Should of known this was going to happen with the way they ended the regular season...

This is an embarassment to the E8.  I personally blame Fisher.  If they had only thrown the game last week it would have been Alfred instead of Wick in the NCAAs and the Saxons would have given their monkey stomp to Curry rather than UofR.

But, the last game of the year at Merrill was a blast and the snow obliged in the fourth quarter to give a great ending to the season for the Saxons and the pep band.  Alfred got stalled out at 82 yards in penalties as our bid for cracking 100 fell short.  Pep even tried getting a delay of game by playing through the snap a few times, but it just wasn't enough.

Now I'm going to try and read through all the pages of posts since yesterday afternoon.

Just got back from the game. Bombers fans should be very proud of the effort today. You have a fine football team and fans that represented themselves well. Not many areas of weakness except being one dimensional today. They just couldn't seem to establish any kind of consistent running game. Congrats on a great season. Hopefully Mount Union will have more opportunities in the future to play the Bombers and other east region teams.

Good to hear about the Bomber faithful making it out there

Wick should of been the sacrifcial lamb to MUC, then if they lose its not big deal...

But to lose to CURRY is unacceptable, how do you have a QB that passes for 3000yds and 35tds on the season and lose that badly?

If it was a close game i'd be ok with it, but to get doubled up (42-21) is just putrid...

Since Wick is such a HORRID road team, Wick will go back to being a doormat since they have to travel to IC and SJF in 2008....

How can they play that badly on the road?

That has to fall on the coaches for not having them ready to play...

Good job Ithaca.  I was in and out all day, but left the audio on.  Looks like a couple plays here or there and the Bombers would have made it a lot closer.

Well at least you are a lot better than the rest of the OAC in 2007.

Better maybe...but they still shouldn't have won a playoff game.

Props to Ithaca on a tough battle.  The QB is the real deal for them.  Their defense did a nice job tackling for the most part.  It looked like they just didn't match up to the overall team speed of Mount.  The officiating certainly DID help Ithaca.  I mean COME ON...penalties were something like 15 yards for Ithaca.....150 for Mount!  It was a joke.

Ithaca had absolutely NO running game.  I read where you guys were saying they should have pounded the ball when they were down near the goal line but to be honest they couldn't move anyone on Mount's line.  They had to try something else, they just didn't execute that well.

This was a great test for Mount.  We haven't had one all year, so this game lets Mount know where they need to improve.  Their pass defense was VERY suspect.  If #8 for Ithaca hadn't dropped a few, the game might have been even closer.

Nice season Ithaca.

OK......who's NEXT?????   ;D
