I threw this up over on the NEFC board, and in the interest of not getting Carpal tunnel I'll copy & paste:

Curry won't be able to run on Fisher, which means they'll have to throw to move the chains. I have no doubt from reading everything on this QB and receiving core that they'll be able to throw some, but if Fisher shuts down Curry's running game early I think it's lights out.

Fisher will drop Stepnick back to Safety and bring in Bostick to play opposite Miranto at the Corner. Our LB's are a good sized, but athletic bunch who can cover the flats. I'm interested to see just how well Curry can throw given that situation.

Our offense, which seemed to waver a bit coming down the stretch looks like it picked up a good spark at the end of the Hobart game, and the O-line FINALLY took over the way they should be able to.

Fisher has seen very good QB's in recent games in Keeley, and Strom (who is better in my mind b/c he can throw & run) --- Each game the Defense has shut them down, and I don't see this week being any different.

But Bills stadium might be the last place in America where you have to pee into Troughs?

Lest we forget Merrill field!

Indeed, Merrill Field's trough urinals far surpass Fisher's....um, portapotties(?)
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

JQV

Today's random fact that will have no bearing on Saterday's outcome:

1) Fisher beat Alfred in the last game of the regular season to sew up home games in the playoffs.  Alfred's main color is...Purple.

2) Fisher plays and beats Hobart in the first round.  Hobart's secondary color is ... ...Purple.

3) The win sets up a matchup with Curry.  Based on the photos of the Curry-Hartwick game on the front page, Curry's main color is ... ...Purple.

4) Should they beat Curry, in all liklihood they will head to Alliance, Ohio where they will be surrounded by ... ...Purple.

5) Looking past the national semis for a moment.  If they beat MUC and win the semis, they will play in the Stagg against (based on expert opinion) UWW, whose main color is ... ...Purple.

THEN

If they beat UWW and win the NC, Rob Kramer will make a guest appearance on Barney's show to discuss the color ... ...Purple... and, of course, to scheme on unsuspecting child victims.

man oh man does Pep hate Fisher's football facilities (some alliteration for you)....me thinks he was jumped by some unruly Fisher fan's after the Saxons victory in 2005 and was gangsta beat on the ground and all that he could stare at while getting kicked repeatedly is our visitor stands and portapotties.  this would explain why he looks on them with so much disdain and keeps bringing it up.  Just a theory

Not really, the award is about numbers and off the field work (however I did see an O-lineman nominated, kudos).  The players listed are all fine candidates...

I agree.  Numbers are usually the key factor for national player of the year.  Stepnicks numbers are certainly good, but its tough for him to put up alot of INT's.  Nobody will throw anywhere near him.  Plus, he plays defensive back so his number of tackles suffer.  Especially with the defensive line and LB's Fisher has.

All the candidates are certainly worthy.

okay lets do this...What are Fisher's chances against Curry?

What are TCNJ's chances against MUC?

My prediction...I think FIsher beats Curry by 24....I think MUC beats TCNJ by 24...and it is all set up...
New Jersey will give MUC another tough game in the playoffs, just fall short...

Lets be serious for a moment...What are FIshers chances if they were to meet MUC in the nex round? 2% maybe? I love Fisher as much as anyone, but that MUC team is just real good.
GO FISHER!!!

Boxer7806

i think they are higher than that... Fisher has the secondary to match up with MUC... i think they are the only team in the NCAA worthy of beating MUC bc stepnick can shut don Garcon in my opinion... Ithaca brought out some MUC weaknesses on offense and i think TCNJ will bring out some weaknessess offensively... with those two games hopefully SJF can exploit those weaknesses the other teams show and take advantage... i think SJF has a better offence then Ithaca and a better D then TCNJ even tho they have been on fire all year

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all... and I am thankful that Fisher is still playing and that they did not choke this year like Alfred and Springfield...

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

What's the opposite of above me?  Exactly.

I wish sjf was playing today but i guess i'm just getting football greedy.  Fisher by 28.  If not for a complete breakdown to start the game, Wick woulda won in my opinion.

Any thoughts on the Pats spread?  Casinos in vegas are takin it off the board bc so many people are jumpin on them.  It's 23!  And I think i'm gonna tease it down.  Gambling, turkey, family, beer, football.  The basics.

Happy thanksgiving.
