Also, if the Sox even think about dealing Ellsbury to snag Santana, I may have to go see Theo myself.

The Yanks are talking about trading Kennedy or Hughes and Cabrera for Santana.

Why would the Yanks or Sox be willing to trade away two of the best young CF's in the game?

You see, the Red Sox can do whatever they want.  They might have their eye on some other 20 million dollar CF that becomes a FA in 2008 or 2009.  Buying players is easy and they might have someone in mind.  Hell, they could even buy Ellsbury back when the time comes.  Santana would make the Sox the top team next year hands down.  You could keep Crisp there and the sox would still be the #1 team in the leauge.

Sure, if they can get Santana without giving up Ellsbury, that would be perfect, but the Twins are no dummies.

Knightstalker

If I am the Yanks or Sox I am not going after Santana now.  They are the only teams that have what the Twins really want.  Sit back and wait to see if the price drops at the trade deadline or just wait a year.

Couldn't agree more. If the Yankees give up Hughes for Santana... well I don't know what I'd do, but it wouldn't be pretty.

Also, don't know if Melky is "one of the best young CFs in the game", but he's a nice little player.

Also, those of you bitching about Ellsbury for Santana... Ramirez for Beckett basically got you a WS.

RE: Karma fluctuations

Ya, let me tell you what doesn't help that out much:

A) Saying anything on the OAC board that isn't in sync with the party line they have
B) See above

They're good doods, but wow, check sarcasm at the door.

As a guy who doesn't dole out much karma in either direction, let me tell you, as a JCUer, what often happens on the OAC board.  Often, when you post something that can be construed as anti-Mount Union, even if you are making (or trying to make) a solid argument, some of the folks in purple will hit you with a -k.  Karma also isn't discussed nearly as much on the OAC board as it is around here, I can tell you that fo' sho'.

Agreed Max, but I wouldn't hang my hat on that happening too often. At some point you have to retain some youth --- Ellsbury is definitely a future leader of the club IMHO.

Utah, went to the Everett vs. BC High Playoff game tonight in Lowell....left at halftime, Everett up 28-0.

Not sure if Everett looked that dominant or BC High looked AWEFUL!!!!!!!

yea I had to work and I missed the games.

Everett, and the Everett coaching staff are the real deal.  They are the best in Massachusetts and no other school even comes close to those guys do.  Xaverian and BC Highs (and a lot of catholic schools besides CM) playcalling baffles me all the time...

Went to the game with a buddy.  We were joking that every BC High pass play looked like a jailbreak screen, and every run was stopped for a loss.  The BC crowd was screaming for the coaching staff to throw every down....two points, the o-line was barely slowing down the d-line and to your previous point, BC's qb wasn't very good.  With that relentless Everett rush, I think BC High threw 1 screen in the 1st half......brutal play calling.

More importantly...How did the old stadium look?

LD, stadium was pretty sweet....looked like new turf.  How many people does the stadium hold....I would guess in the niehborhood of 8,000??

Loved the tunnels and archways under the stands...

lil sis...

Fan bus update???

little sister

No go. I just spoke with Joel Vickers who's on RSA (and plays the Sax @ the home games). He said that they're not sending one because it's not Semi's. I said that's dumb because it's an awesome experience just to see MUC and have our guys get the opportunity to play them again. If I could get a bus together myself I would - but I have no way of getting ahold of so many students who would ride down. It's unfortunate for even myself, going alone would be expensive and rough on my car.... I'm torn! But I really want to go. Mark IM'd me and suggested funds from Alumni, and said if I needed help money wise to let him know and he'd see what he could do. I'm not a part of any organization though... I do know the number to CWTours in Hornell ;)I'd really love to pull some strings and do it on my own - but like I said, I've got no way of getting ahold of that many students who'd appreciate it as well.

Guys (and lil sis) - CHECK this ish out from the OAC board:

Quote from: PghRaider on November 28, 2007, 01:11:11 PM
Well I always read this board espically around this time of year but I never post because I get a kick out of others outside the OAC thinking they are better and they will be the ones to knock Mount off.   :D Lets face it Mount is the only team that can knock Mount off.  They have the BEST team to possibally ever come out of that school.  As a former player thats hard to admit being I played on 5 great teams but this team is dominating everyone in all the stat sheets.  Mount can beat who ever, when ever, by as many as they wish week in and week out. (DIII)  If they wanted to beat every team by 50 LK would call the game that way.  Mount has been so great on the ground throughout the years that a 21pt lead is almost like being ahead 50-0.  Since their D has given up a grand total of 49pts all year a game within 21 (which I dont think is close some do) if Mount scores 4 times its over.  Since teams have had trouble from keeping Mount out of the endzone 7 times a game it looks like Mount wins the Stagg by 20 or more.  The talk about Fisher Rbs running for a 100 or more is almost comical.  The Mount D has developed a "swagger" like the U of old.  When a team scores they take it as an insult and I know allowing a TEAM to run for a 100 would cause them to lose sleep.  So to all you Fisher fans good job making it this far see you in the opener next year.  Mount is and will be the most  DOMINANT program that we ever see and will stay that way untill they decide otherwise.

Can we please go over there and make fun of this post? Some of you have already and it's beautiful. This needs to be plastered ad naseum whenever Mount fans talk about not being arrogant.

maxpower

Also, Pat, can we please change the poll question on the front page to the proper spelling of a certain day of the week?
