morning FA91...I'm sippin the coffee, holdin a twin, typin with 1 finger and wishin to God that I was in 'my' hotel room in Canton right now...

I hope the Fisher crowd is close to or bigger than last year...AND as loud...there is no doubt in my mind that when they (players) came to the tunnel last year and heard the noise we were making and saw the numbers....they were pumped...or at least I was ;)

you listenin to Frank and Robby today...?

jaypeter

I'm one of those that have picked Mount Union to NOT cover the spread today.  But even beyond that, you can respect a team and still think that the guys you root for will win by a sizeable margin.  You can respect a team even AFTER your guys have beaten them by a sizeable margin.  I don't think you'll find many MUC fans who don't respect Ithaca or what they did in that game.

I hear ya...and I did notice that you were 1 of the 'smart' ones....+k

Are you a MUCer or what?

jaypeter

I'm MUCer that grew up in Webster, went for two years to Plattsburgh State University (big DIII hockey fan, too), and transferred to Mount Union where I graduated from.

Oh so you are a good 'ol Rochester boy...I aam from and live in Irond. My in-laws live in Webster.  Did you graduate from Webster?  I played f'ball at SJF with several webster guys from 92-95

At the risk of losing my "smart one" status, I could see this game staying close again through the third quarter, with Mount Union putting up a couple of touchdowns to end with a 14-17 pt. victory.  The kind of score that isn't necessarily indicative of the way the game played out.  I have a healthy dose of respect for SJF, and will give them their props if they win, but I think that Mount Union this year is a stronger, more balanced team than last year.  I also think that with Stepnick out, while someone may step into his place, they won't be able to fill his shoes and that will be a sizeable setback for y'all's defense.

Yes, I graduated from Webster, but have never played football except for the tackle/touch games in the street and front yards of the neighborhood.  Graduated in '96 from Webster.  At different times I did play soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse, but had moved on to other things by junior year of HS.

Hopefully not many read this...I agree with everything you just said...

You follow any East Coast Hockey down there...my bro-in-law is a linesman in the ECHL...he lives in NC

jaypeter

It's turning into the jaypeter-GOEASTREGION82 board!  I just got to NC in September and we're still settling in.  Haven't been able to stretch out yet and get into much of the local sports.  I do hope to get to a Hurricane's game at some point, and I'm hoping for some tickets to slide my way for either Duke or UNC basketball.  We'll see, though.
