As for Garcon, I agree with what you said about him, although he had a great Stagg Bowl in '06.  It will be interesting to see him play in the video games this week

Where can I get my hands on a copy of NCAA DIII Football for Wii?!?

You must have sneaked a peak at Pep's letter to Santa during the get-together Sunday, eh? You'd really buy that for Pep for his birthday or Christmas, KaZoo?  +k for you!

Is he not 22 years old or so?  Hardly a kid, if you ask me.

Agreed, there.

All this negative talk about a kid making a statement...

Maybe...Just maybe...and I know nothing as an innocent bystander but as a fan frustrated with 'coaching'...all I hear is this Jackson kid is a pretty good talent who 'pouted' when he didn't get the ball...

Well...

Maybe he SHOULD HAVE gotten the ball more.  Maybe his 'I don't want to work, I just want to bang on the drum all day' antics weren't necessarily directed at Mount Union, but at the fact of, 'screw you, you screwed me'????  Maybe SJF coaches were a little too 'run' happy, as it appears from the MUC posters...and they had some talent that they didn't take advantage of?

Is it possible that SJF had a great amount of talent that went by the wayside because of the running back talent they had a year ago?  Did a coach have a personal vendetta against a player because MAYBE that player was outspoken and had some teamates that stood by him when coaches blew opportunities....ahem...Hartwick???  SJF, Union, Hobart, Ithaca, RPI, etc, all have decent enough talent to win their league every year, but COACHING makes the difference when it comes to the national scene.

Instead of taking shots at an individual, maybe Fisher needs to look at the coaching decisions made during the year that hurt them, as opposed to some antics that occured at a non-issue point of the last game of the year, against arguably, the most talented team D3 has ever seen.

Honestly, it seems to me that Curry had a coaching staff that had the ability to have its 'team', as opposed to it's individual talent, play above and beyond their expectations...and I think the Ithaca coaches also did the same, as it seems Ithaca was not nearly as talented as it has been, but coached well enough to be noticed against a bigge,r faster, better team.

Everyone sh!ts on MUC because they are so good...Maybe LK just makes the right decisions based on the players he has each year???  Mount Union always has players, but their scheme changes from year to year, and sometimes from game to game, based on their talent, and what is going well for them at THAT time.  Amazing how a coach can adapt to his players like that isn't it???  There is a lot to be said about that.  Instead of pointing the finger at MUC's depth, and their talent, and their 'dumb' players who can't get in anywhere else(which I think is crock), maybe, just maybe, it's the fact their coach doesn't have  hard-on for himself, is smart enough, is knowledgable enough, and is flexible enough to coach his team based on the talent he has each year, and against what another team throws at him each game?

Yes, MUC has an advantage NOW, that they have built this program over so many years, and so many players want to play for this outfit, but EVERY other program has the same opportunity.  If you blame it on academics and standards, you are crazy, because smart kids can play football too!!!   I'm sick of all the excuses.  It comes down to coaching and execution.  Every team has the talent...except for maybe Utica...

What just happened?  I think I blacked out.

LD, we're not talking about Terrell Owens here. The kid plays DIII football. That kind of acting up just doesn't belong at this level. If you're one of the best in the world, maybe.

Also, I think the banter is mostly related to the drumming incident. Bad coaching decisions or not, that is just embarrassing down 52-10.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Whatever man, you're just happy something like that happened.  That way you had something else to talk about instead of the actual game.

This is what we talk about when we say TRADITION.  Coach Welch has been around the IC program and "winning" for about 20 years.  You learn a thing or two about how to be successful with the "ingredients" you have year to year.  Thus, IC is the better program.

Side note: I wish the new A&E center was built by the terraces and not BOOTHROYD! Can any ICer tell me why the *beep* we are building way the balls down there??? Put the thing in the visitor parking lot between the field hockey and practice football field.  That makes more sense than building half way to Cornell and 2 miles away from Butterfield!

Wasn't the original plan to build it up by the Terraces? That's a hike from one end of campus to the other, did that one too many times.

LD, +k for a great post back there. I won't quote it, but I'm behind that 100% - The coaches were stubborn all game, and made poor decisions the entire game (there seem to be a theme with that? Last year they got in deep and threw when they were running, and this year they ran when they were having success throwing... we won't bring up the end of the Hartwick game... oops) --- Stop hating Jackson for making a mistake, I think it was a screw you coach thing just as much as a screw you & your big purple band thing, LD is right. That was the first time they went to Jackson all year, and he produced (recall the first play of the game, and the shot he took on that pass deep in MUC territory and still hung onto the ball).

Fisher coaches need to take notes from Welch & Co. and learn how to do more with less... or perhaps from LK himself, the guy who turns close games at the half into second half blowouts (Fisher doesn't believe in 2nd half adjustments... or maybe they don't know have the ability)

I'll tell you something else, the team went nuts when he came over to the sideline - While Faggiano was yelling at him (deflecting the fact that he can't come up with something to hold MUC under 1,014 yards rushing per contest), Jackson walked into a sea of hugs & smiles... what's that tell you?

Get off his n*tz.
