The soccer player indicated that RIT does not want to invest in football. Pep surmises its hockey program is its draw. Anyone know the guy to gal ratio at RIT? If it's predominately male-dominated as Pep would think, perhaps they don't want a program that would bring more testosterone to its somewhat "sterile" campus.

pep- with a school the size of rit- i find it hard to believe that they would never have another football program.

Naz on the otherhand--never had one to start with-
and they are focused on lax and bball.

imagine that crosstown rivalry if naz fielded a football team---ouch

It wouldn't be a crosstown rivalry between Fisher and Naz it would be a cross-street rivalry.

Pep - don't forget the UCAA (founded in 95 - a precursor to the LL)

kubiack78

So there are two leages in the upstate NY?

boobyhasgameyo

Yes sir, two current leagues - LL and E8.  It's fun too because there are a lot of great cross league matchups and we get to go back and forth as to which league is better that particular year.

pg04

Plus the 4 state Schools in upstate NY that have joined the NJAC!

jp- i sense sarcasm again correct?

i am still curious on who will take the Norwich spot when they leave.

Yeah, more sarcasm.  One of my friends that went there actually gave me one of the "RIT Football, undefeated since 19-whenever" shirts some of the students used to bootleg.  I wore it to a Mount Union game and really confused people.  They haven't had football since the early 80's, I think.

fisheralum91

jp- it was before that me thinks.
if anything it was early early 80s more likely the 70 s
that is one place i cant figure out.
great academics- good sports programs and quite possibly the worst campus i have ever set foot on!

I had two very good friends go to RIT.  Very male dominated campus.  Also high ratio of Asians and deaf people (not sure the politically correct way to say that, did the best I could).  Some other interesting notes on that subject...  All students are expected to live on campus their freshman year.  With the exceptionally large population of deaf students, this leads to some interesting interactions.  Many of the deaf students have hundreds of dollars invested in their sound systems becuase they listen to the music by feeling the vibrations due to the base.  As you can imagine, many of the dorms are blaring music (often several at the same time) at all hours.  Second, and much funnier, the deaf are apparently much louder in bed as well so as to feel the vibrations from each other, not the sound.  This leads to a wierd screaming/moaning sound throughout the dorms on Saterday nights.
I figured the musicalside of this entry might be up your alley.  Happy holidays to all.  Its been a good year of busting on each other.

Sarge: You going to the North Country for Christmas? Pep Jr. will back in Mayberry probably early Saturday morning...Pep may be making a post-Christmas trip to Charlotte to get away from the cold and snow for a few days. Pep is also looking for a different vehicle as the 1992 Bandwagon is beginning to act its age.

Yes, RIT has one of the top college programs in the country for deaf people.  Ranked somewhere in the top 5 I believe.

And AU, I think you're right about the hockey program.  They just recently moved up to DI, but even at DIII, they did a lot to promote the team and used it as their main sports draw for the school.  They seem to be meeting moderate success there, and it seems like a good move and transition for them.  I was there a few years ago when they hosted the DIII Frozen Four...I think at the end of the 99-00 season...which was just two years before moving up to DI.  They knew at the time that they were moving up a division.

I was just happy because my team won the championship that year.  It still remains the only time I have personally witnessed my favorite team hoisting the national championship trophy.  If I go to another Mount Union football game and they lose that one too, the Plattsburgh championship will most likely be the only one I ever witness in person!

You may escape the snow, but it's been pretty chilly down here in North Carolina the last week or so.  Granted not nearly as cold as Upstate NY.  It's interesting you'll be heading down here...I'm heading up to the Adirondacks right after the holiday.
