Pep, talking to himself here, says Go Giants! An E8 Coach in the Super Bowl? The Giants' Tom Coughlin was head coach of the former RIT Tiger Football program back in the 1970s (1970-1973), which was, to put it nicely, a difficult coaching start if Pep remembers correctly.

Pep is always happy to say there was a Saxon in the Super Bowl early in its history. AU grad Norm Schachter served as a referee in one of the earlier contests. Perhaps someday another Saxon, Bill Schuster (#129) will serve as a referee in a Super Bowl.

Would give Pep some +karma for even hanging around these lonely boards, but Pep can't do that.  :'(

Don't worry Pep, I got your +K just for the cheer for my beloved Giants.  I'm just desperately hoping that the Giants second meeting with the Patriots goes better than most teams' second meeting with my Purple Raiders!  If only New England had a new coach.  MUC seems to have trouble with those new coaches...

Superman is a fan of Madison Dirty Jersey, his brother went to school at the nice school is Madison (Drew U) Morristown has some nice spots

Small world, Supe.  My brother did his grad work at Drew which, despite making the ugliest campuses list, I thought was rather pleasant with all the tall oaks and wrought iron fence (plus downtown Madison is gorgeous).
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I know that we often complain in the offseason on this board because of the lack of banter that we so enjoy during the season.  So as I read an article from ESPN.com, I thought I might put the Rick Majerus debacle on the table for discussion.  Is this an acceptable topic?  Don't want to step on toes here and if anyone would like to stray from the possibility of this becoming a politically charged debate, I would more than understand.

While Pep hesitates entering said proposed discussion, the timeliness, with this week being the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, can't be questioned.

Pep is of the opinion that wisdom, when given the choice of "life" or "death" always chooses life.

On another note, Pep randomly awakened young Pep Jr. for school this morning with the use of a kazoo. (Pep realizes such action warrants child abuse charges) Then within the hour his morning radio show hosts declared it to be "National Kazoo Day." Pep was tickled and decided to carry his kazoo along to work.

While making a stop at Uni-Mart to deliver papers, Pep mentioned the "Kazoo Day" revelation and said Uni-Mart manager pulled out a calendar that listed National Kazoo Day as Monday, January 28, 2008. Pep believes this calls for a celebration!

Happy Kazoo Day, everyone....today or Monday, whichever you'd like!
+K to all....-K to Superman

Having attended a Catholic institution, I never liked when the university attempted to impose the dogma on the rank-and-file employees who weren't involved in teaching, let alone teaching philosophy or religion.

While I happen to agree with Archbishop's Burke position on the issue, I think his very presence in this particular debate will only keep it from being an intelligent national discussion.  Unfortunately, the Archbishop's past actions make it pretty clear that he is much more interested in personal publicity than the underlying issue (and he is a master of keeping his name in the papers).  I almost wonder if Majerus didnt do this just for the purpose of 'tweaking the nose of the king.'

+k to Sarge for a good topic.

That's my initial thought as well.  It's not like Majerus is giving a dissertation on stem cell research before going over the pick and roll with his players.

Furthermore, how can you take yourself seriously as an academic institution of higher education, when all of that higher education comes only from the views of a select representation of society.  If one were to take all views into account and then continue to agree with those values, then that's one thing.  But how can you make an educated decision, as a student of said university, if all you were ever taught was through the eyes of one group.

I've also gotta commend Majerus for having the guts to say something.  Its not like he went there seeking out attention, but when asked his view, he spoke it.
