As Lame-duck Commissioner of the Empire 8 Post Patterns, Pep thinks that before this thing can be put to a vote, each "party" needs to caucus to nominate its candidate. There's a real disadvantage for the Fisher Party to put up four candidates who no doubt will split their vote. There should be candidates representing each of the E8 schools, with the exception, perhaps, of Norwich, which is seceding from the union. (And no need to declare Civil War to keep them in the fold....heck, they're armed and dangerous, let 'em go!)

Now, you ask, who is Pep to make such bold statements here regarding election of a new commissioner. Oh, yeah, Pep is the present E8 commisioner....albeit reluctantly from the start.

It's never been Pep's style to dictate to others on the boards, otherwise he'd declare an edict that everyone must heretofore become Saxon fans. So, above is posted as food for thought.

While I can appreciate this post, Pep, you seem to have left out a mechanism for at-large candidates.  Any suggestions?

Ummmm - How did Jose and I switch orders in the choices, with him and I switching vote totals?!

Since it looks like there isn't a real possibility for a fair election here, I'm forced to acknowledge the hanging chads and withdraw from consideration.  I'm disappointed, as it was a position I was looking forward to holding for the year if I were able to garner the requisite votes.  If a fair election is to be had, then I will throw my support and votes behind Tags.
