Ummmm - How did Jose and I switch orders in the choices, with him and I switching vote totals?!

Since it looks like there isn't a real possibility for a fair election here, I'm forced to acknowledge the hanging chads and withdraw from consideration.

I'm not saying anything.  All I am saying is, there is only one member of E8Nation that hails from Florida...

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Jose,  now I really REALLY love your signature pic!  This Giants fan is happy to have a championship connection to RIT.  Maybe they need to add something to those t-shirts a few students used to sell..."RIT football--Undefeated since 1983 and a Super Bowl winning coach!"  Or whatever year that was.  Pep, do you remember their last year?

Either way, way to go Giants!!!!!

I live in Florida, but don't hail from here...plus I'm not really a member of E8Nation either lol.

Pep was under the false impression that Coughlin didn't do much with the RIT football program. Turns out, according to the D&C, that Coughlin led the Tigers to, if Pep remembers correctly, 16-15-2 in his seasons there...rather impressive with a fledgling program. Pretty sure he's 0-2 or 0-3 against Pep's Saxons, but will have to do a little research....coming soon.

jaypeter: as an apparent RIT backer, what do you see as the chances that RIT would ever return to the gridiron? Does Coughlin's Super Bowl win renew any interest there?
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

Booby is the choice for the fisher rep?

I have to admit that I'm not an RIT backer...it's hard for me to cheer them on.  I went for two years to Plattsburgh before transferring to Mount Union, and the Tigers and Plattsburgh's Cardinals played a pretty heavy rivalry in hockey before RIT moved up to DI (although the Cardinals did win the National Championship in Ritter Arena!).  I'm a Giants fan through and through, and am excited for the team, and am a Rochester native so I think it's nice to have another Super Bowl connection to the area.  I remember being surprised when reading about Coughlin coaching at RIT when he was hired.  I just thought to myself, "RIT has a football program?"  Then I heard the stories of how they had folded the program.

As far as RIT starting up football again, I'd be surprised.  I think you can, but is it even possible to have a DIII program with a DI sport at the same school?  I think before they can consider re-starting the football program, they need to earn some significant money with the hockey program, and that can take a long time with how little return is seen in hockey.  I don't think that they would see any positve in it, just another drain on the athletic department budget.

We talked about this a while ago.
The college can have a d1- non money program - ie not football or bball.
Clarkson, RPI, Hobart  and Union are examples

Although, the NCAA is turning a much more careful eye to this.  If I remember right, some of the D3s that have D1 Lax were in danger of losing the exemption for Lax a few years ago.

I am fairly certain that the concern goes back to the Dayton teams in the 80s and 90s that had a bunch of scholarship D1 track athletes dominating D3 football.

fisheralum91

makes sense!
Though it does seem that many upstate schools have higher division sports in non money sports like Hockey and Lax especially.
Is this region specific?
I use LeMoyne in D2 lax- Hobart D1, SLU, Clarkson, Union, RPI and RIT D1 for Hockey as examples- and i know that there are a few more.

sorry if my previous post was misleading.  No one lost their sport-specific exemptions there was just talk that they should be revoked and teams should be one division or another.  I remember reading it on the front page of d3fb.  (The front page? What is that?)

I just wanted to congratulate the Giants on a great performance last night; that really made Kaz00's year!  Besides being a fan of the Marine Mammals, I was also rooting for the Giants due to their Alfred connection: Defensive Line Coach Mike Waufle who coached the Saxon D-Line in 1979.  Through my biased eyes, the whole D-Line of the G-men deserved the MVP like one of those absurd "Horse Trailer" choices with 5 guys' faces crammed into the space assigned for an individual.

On Saxon Warriors!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

You have a damn problem with that???

I kid I kid, I'll be nice for now until I'm elected in which case I will turn into a Draconian Tyrant.

Hell of a game last night by the way, hell of a game....

I made that same statement over on the OAC board.  The big reason that one D-Lineman didn't win it, was that they all made so many plays, they had too many numbers divided up between them.  My vote would have gone for Justin Tuck, 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumber all in the first half.  He did get shut down a bit in the second half, though.

However, it is hard to argue with Manning simply by looking at his 4th quarter.  He really was top-notch for those last 15 minutes.  He even out-Brady'd Brady.

The Defense deserved the MVP, but when you choose the MVP you have to go with the stats and Eli was amazing last night...the Int should not be credited to him but it is....and the play where he breaks the sack and throws the ball 32 yards to Tyree who catches the ball with his head is incredible
