Are any of the other E8 posters jealous of all the press (free advertising) Alfred University received in the Nerf-Gunman Lockdown?

NSRB just got sick to his stomach.... looking out the window at the busy Syracuse streets below he noticed the new CENTRO Bus "wraps" are now advertising for...

... St. John Fisher...

this is especially unfortunate since there is a bus stop directly in front of NSRB's apartment... this is only going to fuel Rowdy's discontent for the redbirds.

Oh come on now, Spring ball hasnt even ended yet....

Is that as bad as the Norwich ads in Rochester?

Is this such a bad thing anyway?  The only colleges I see advertised on buses in Boston are ITT tech,  Phoenix U, and the Swahili Language Institute.........

Doesn't Phoenix University have a huge football stadium with nice seats for guests?

How about the post-Keeley Alfred era? How's that going to be...

I'm going on the record with a 6-4 prediction for the 2008 Saxons, though the rumblings from Pep that Coach Murray is close to bringing in his top recruit has me cautiously optimistic that life after Keeley may be better than I imagine.  Hey, we still have the Purple Haze for 2 more years and maybe he can learn to play nose tackle and kick extra points over the summer!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

So I lost 3 karma points in less than a day when I didn't even think 3 regular posters were looking on these boards.  Curious as to what terrible thing I said to deserve this unsavory honor?

Pep prefers to applaud...except for Super, who has an unnatural dislike for + karma. Here's a +K if it makes ya feel better, booby.  :)

Pep is happy to report a CHANGE in the Saxons 2008 schedule, one that originally had the Purple and Gold on the road for six weekends and only four home games. Gladly, AU is not traveling again to Bangor, ME to play Husson....it's just TOO FAR! Instead, AU will pick up Ursinus (alma mater of AU Asst. Coach Bob Rankl) for the Sept. 6 opener, giving AU five home games and five away and leaving an open date on Oct. 25. Here's the schedule:

Sept. 6--URSINUS
Sept. 13--FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON
Sept. 20--at St. Lawrence
Sept. 27--at Springfield
Oct. 4--NORWICH (Homecoming)
Oct. 11--at Hartwick
Oct. 18--at Utica
Oct. 25--Open date
Nov. 1--at Rochester
Nov. 8--ITHACA
Nov. 15--ST. JOHN FISHER

That's Pep's story and he's sticking to it.

On the same bandwagon, I looked on the Brockport website and officially see the schedule with no E8 teams!! (Frostburg is the only Non-Njac Game)  What will I do?  :D

Would other E8 posters be willing to post their teams' 2008 schedules?

What SUNY schools currently in the NJAC would bolt for the E8?

With the exit by Norwich, would the E8 take just one SUNY school to maintain its AQ? Should the E8 take more than one?

Some off-season topics that perhaps could generate some discussion.

From Pep's perspective, it would appear Ithaca and Hartwick would be in position to battle for the 2008 E8 title while St. John Fisher, despite coaching changes and a new QB, will likely be in the mix as well. Post-Keeley Saxons are a puzzle dumped on the table awaiting the coaches' putting pieces together but Pep is optimistic as AU season pre-Keeley was a solid 8-3.

Where have all the posters gone?

pep- Hartwick?
really.
with all due respect--- they had their one year run.
i really dont think they have a shot at the E8 this year.
That being said--there are a TON of question marks for Fisher.
Graduation hurt big time.
Replacing the likes of Stepnick, Fortune, Kramer and a host of others will be no easy task.

IC is usually the last team to post their schedule because they wait until all contracts have been signed and returned.  I would guess it will look exactly like the 2007 schedule but I am not sure if the Lyco contract has expired/will get renewed.  If they asked my opinion, I'd open with them at home again since they seemed to travel well the last time they were in town plus, we can get some good banter with Lyco80 again.

A better question is, what SUNY school currently in the NJAC wouldn't bolt for the E8?  Shorter travel, more natural rivalries, and, with SJF, IC, and SC, no dip in national respect for the conference.

I really hope we only add one football member.  I'd hate to get into a situation like the current NJAC where there is no flexibility to keep the schedule fresh and entertaining.  I have really enjoyed the changes in the Bombers non-conference schedule over the years.  Mansfield was an interesting opponent.  Hobart and Brockport were great games.  Lyco and Kings have been interesting.  Even Huntingdon was a good game the year they came.  Adding too many teams would prevent this.

pep- Hartwick?
really.

I have my doubts too but Boltus is back so you know they are going to score a ton of points which is basically how they beat both IC and SJF last year.  They got to go on the road to Butterfield and SJF though...

superman57

I'm skeptical on the Wick this year, just because they have to go on the road, and we all know that Fisher is the only private school to win at Butterball....and Fisher is always tough at home

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
