Pat Coleman

I have Buffalo State marked for nine conference opponents and 10 regional opponents. St. John Fisher is not marked as a conference opponent.

I agree PG.  I was certain Port would drop IC but I figured it would be so they could keep SJF on the sched.  Why wouldn't they want a game against a quality opponent that doesn't require a lot of travel considering the travel budget they are going to have to spend in the NJAC?

Just found the 2008 AU schedule posted on this site and have alerted the AU SID about an error. This site has AU playing St. Lawrence at Merrill Field, which would give AU six home games and four away. Fact is, AU will be playing AT St. Lawrence on Sept. 20. AU will play five home games and five away.

Pat: you probably will be hearing direct from the AU SID with the correction, as it should be. While Pep likes to be "in the know," Pep recognizes that Pep is not the proper source from which said information should be gathered.   :)

...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

That's OK -- you could also just post a link where I could've read it on Alfred's site and that would've been just fine. No, I couldn't take your word on it alone but a link to the official info would work.

With Brockport going from four conference games to nine, their flexibility in scheduling is rather limited.

Pep has since heard back from the AU SID and he has stated that he never sent the information to d3football.com Pep is wondering where the schedule was found. Pep has confirmed with the AU Athletics Secretary, Coach Dave Murray and the SID that the St. Lawrence game is away, as it should be since the Larries (Saints) were at Merrill Field in 2007.

Never mind, Pat, Pep sees that it has been fixed. THANKS!!! +K to the guru!

Wow, had no idea it was already up on the Alfred website...that's early for AU!

WOW, adding Salisbury is ballsy considerig Mt. Union is already on the schedule.  Seeing as there are a few spots open in the schedule I wonder if SJF is trying to get Wisc. Whitewater on the schedule.

Still, a New York team would have made more sense.  But the pre-existing relationship with Frostburg helps too.  I guess you are right in that it really depends on the timing of the NJAC Schedule.

I agree with upstate.
As if Mt. U wasnt tough enough!
Especially with a team with a lot of question marks next year----it may sting for a bit- but it really does let everyone know where the program is and where it is going!

JQV

I like Fisher's scheduling moves.

If nothing else, it is fun to see some new teams on the schedule.  It is one thing that IC has always done a good job of.  It really keeps things fresh for me and keeps me interested in non-conference weeks.

September 13th will be a fun day in Alfred.  First, Pep and I will bring the village dentist to see his alma mater play at Merrill and then we'll head to the first football game on Alfred State's new field!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!
