So back to your question.  I define few as three or more which there were if they didn't have to forfeit the wins, and I count decent as an above .500 record because I didn't say amazing seasons I said decent....The late 90's I would count as 97, 98, 99.  Maybe Pat knows which specific season Fisher forfeited the wins because I think they played Catholic that year, I think it was in '95 which would explain the drop off from 5-4, 5-4, to 1-9.

*Edit

I looked back at SJFF82's previous posts because I remembered he was the one originally talking about Fisher's past records.  They were 6-0 to start the '95 season and nationally ranked, so that definitely was the season the wins were forfeited.

Pep remembers it was the 1995 season. Pep was at the SJF-Alfred game that the Cardinals won 52-35 or something like that with AU's Pre-Season All-American Krumie Mabry and 1994 late season starting Saxon QB Scooter Hendrick bolting Mayberry to play for the Cardinals. Incidentally, neither Mabry nor Hendrick was the ineligible player.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I almost missed that play.  Me and the wife were walking out of the stadium after Port scored the go ahead TD, when she had to use the bathroom, she was pregnant at the time and they do that often when pregnant.  I didnt want to stay there but I wasnt messing with my pregnant wife so I waited and watched Port kick the ball through the endzone, after an unsportsmanlike penalty on SJF (the DB was complaining about a push off).  If Port squibs that kick game over, but they kicked it out of the endzone so no time went off the clock.

Hey fellas...

Popped my head in the football office yesterday to say good bye to the coaches before I head to California!!!

Sounds like they did a great job recruiting, bringing in a couple of good LB's and a few good linemen and a WR they were looking forward to bringing in as well.

The big news I heard was the probability of about 4 or 5 transfers coming in from various D-1, and 1AA colleges.  Talks of a QB, TE, WR, and a couple other athletes are making this class seem even more powerful.  Other good news is that they are all red-shirts so they have their full 4 years of eligibility.

Not counting chickens before their hatched but it sounds like this is turning out to be another great class coming in to SJFC.  Like I told Coach Parks... It's nice to have name recognition out there and have players actually wanting to come here and play.  5 years ago we would have never had a shot w/ the likes of these caliber players.

1 week til I move and I've officially checked out of this place so let's keep these boards going and pass the LL  ::)

Apparently UW-Whitewater was already booked up so they had to settle for the Buff State game....

I am looking forward to seeing Salisbury though!  They do have to travel here so hopefully they can take advantage of that...

Robby, congrats on the promotion!  Any word on who these kids are?

Sorry I didn't get back on sooner.  Yeah I got the records from the Fisher Site.    I just thought saying that would get some people talking, and it did.

I like the Brockport last second FG in 2003 at Fisher Better than the play you're referring to!

Good Times!  I remember that we were so loud (and perhaps very unprofessional -- though we are still students afterall) screaming that the kick was good.

Just got done checking out the DIII section of the Lindy's college football magazine and here are some points of interest:

Pre-season rankings have the following NY teams:
#16 Fisher
#17 Ithaca
#21 RPI
Mount Union starts at #1 and Salisbury was at #20 for the Fisher followers out there.

One of the picks for the "5 big games to watch" was Fisher at MUC the first week of the season. Notes on Fisher was that they would have to overcome a brutal scedule including 3 preseason top 25 teams, as well as 4 teams that were in the playoffs last year. No preseason all americans.

I just got the taste in my mouth of some D3 football talk...I can't wait for some more.
GO FISHER!!!

fisheralum91

i hope that rob is right and that vos loaded up for bear.
i will tell you this--at least fisher will know what kind of season it is going to have after the first 3 weeks :P
