FA had breakfast at Casab's this morning.

Now in Pittsford for my cousin's wedding. Pretty hammered and looking for someone to drive me over to Growney so I can drain one on the Cardinal logo....

Ha, nice Jose.  If you would have put out the Booby signal in the sky (a la the Bat signal) I would have found you and drove you.  Of course I would have driven you to Naz's field and told you it was Fisher, you'd be too piss drunk to tell where exactly you were pissing....

Does anybody have an update on the recruiting classes around the E8? I read about the potential big time recruits for Fisher and the like. Does anybody have any information? Is there any information on the Ithaca, Alfred, SC classes?

Pep is back from a 1350-mile Bandwagon excursion that included two days at Cedar Point in Sandusky, a day at Kings Island near Cincy, and a delightful day with the radiant RoseLyn McKittrick who operates the 1954 State Champs Museum in Milan, IN of "Hoosiers" movie fame. More travel stories to come.

Before his departure, Pep learned that the AU SID had recently been given the 100+ recruit list from Coach Dave Murray with some designated as "top recruits" with their scholastic honors. Pep supposes a story will be coming soon as the SID has been on vacation.

Meanwhile, Pep observed that the high school football camp has begun and this year has been expanded from one week to two weeks to better accommodate the eight participating school teams.

-Pep's vehicle is still going strong

I don't think you gave this story nearly enough play. It was far more dominant on the board than you describe.

Far too dominant. :)

...so dominant that even the guru is posting about it!   ???

Superman: the bandwagon just turned over 297,000 miles with trip to Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH), Kings Island (near Cincy) and Milan, IN (the real story of the Hoosiers reel story).

Just curious pep, but wouldnt you think that with all these years of 100+ recruits that AU could actually field a team with out having some of its players playing both ways?

well dubbz is out of hibernation.  can anyone give me the cliff notes version of the last 4 months on the E8 board?

Plus K for you for a week.

Well Dubbz it has been an incredibly slow 4 months on the boards.  Basically from what I remember here are the highlights.

-Ithaca is (or at least was) in search of a secondary coach, and they also weren't sure if one of your players would return this year or not (can't remember who but he seemed like a significant player)

-Pep's vehicle is still going strong

-There was a lot of talk about potential replacements for Norwich and the consensus was that Cortland would be the best fit, though some people don't find this likely.

-Utica had a list of their recruits posted on a website, Mark Robinson came on talking about some potential Fisher recruits, and Pep I believe speaks of a 100+ incoming recruit class (which he was later told was nothing too out of the ordinary).

-There was a bit of a discussion taking place in regards to Division 1 / 1AA players switching to Division 3 spurred by the talk of some of the Fisher recruits, there were some who were strongly opposed to players doing this in general (not just the ones that decide to go to Fisher).

Other than that it's been the occasional hello and what's up, there were periods of days between posts...Most notably the one you just broke up, a pretty nice 3 day streak of no posting.  Good times!

Hope that helped sir.

thanks.   Is Bostic really a "significant loss" to the team?   I know he is 6'5" and the cornell coaches were drueling over him at the scrimmage last year but, he has had no impact on Bomber football.  Whether its lack of talent or lack of coaching/ play calling who knows?  I just remember Cornell coach not understanding why IC would not throw him the ball.

Pep is not aware of any AU players who "play both ways" i.e. a starter on both defense and offense. However, from Pep's perspective as a "support staff" member at AU (a most biased observer), Coach Murray, when looking for someone to fill a certain role, looks on both sides of the ball for the right kid. Thus, on critical short yardage plays in 2007, it was "Miller Time." Pep can't think of any Saxon more daunting than the 6-2 310-lb. DT Don Miller, unless it was that sick Saxon LB Brenton Brady.

Just curious, Upstate, does that bother you?

Not in the least Pep, Coach Murray can do whatever he wants with his players.  However dont come on here and constantly preach about how AU has 100 players coming in because it is not a big deal....

Pep certainly does not mean to offend anyone. When someone posts a question (as quoted above) and Pep has some information that he can share, he does so. Pep understands that 100 football recruits coming to Alfred is no big deal, but Pep works at the library and football recruits who matriculate help provide Pep's paycheck.

But now that Pep has been chastised for 1) posting about the bandwagon; and 2) posting about AU recruits....perhaps one more strike and Pep should be PepBanned from the E8 boards altogether.  :P

Thats not the thing pep, if you were to say who they are and what they did in HS it would be different.  But to just constantly come on here and say AU has over 100 recruits coming in is not answering anyones question...

AUPepBand

Upstate: Please accept Pep's apology. No more mention of 100+ recruits at AU! Pep promises!
Oops, Pep's done it again....  ::)
