max- you have to take it on a case by case basis.
some of the fisher faithful-----have never taken any fisher success for granted--because we know exactly where they were say when i was there.
for the most part the fisher fans have been pretty even keeled---for the most part.
especially the ones that i have met at the games.
a great group of guys..

Booby,

I didn't try and bring it up, I did.  Also, I don't see you arguing that my point is irrelevant.

Now let me get back to obsessing about how Jon Gruden is going to torpedo our season...

fisheralum91

Jose---you guys are this close to getting Favre!!

I hope the Jets get him

fisheralum91

wow- jose i figured that you would be happy to be in the favre sweepstakes.

We got a Pro-Bowl QB that has finally learned Gruden's system and threw 4 INTs all of last season (three of which came in one game).  Gruden's system is at its best when the QB manages the game, makes good decisions, and the team runs the ball effectively.

Brett Favre got up this morning and threw four picks while he was brushing his teeth.  The guy just isn't that good, won't manage the game, and cannot possibly learn Gruden's offense.

(Side note: Don't get me started on how stupid it is to run an offense that takes two or three years to learn...)

Ha, I know tough guy, hence me saying anytime you see the opportunity to take a knock at Fisher you do.  I'm curious what exactly do you see in Fisher's future since you constantly bring it up?  Two or Three win seasons?  You guys love to reference Fisher in the 90's but that is when they first became a division 3 team.   I mean God knows all of the other nearly 300 division 3 teams started out winning multiple national championships within their first 10 years of existence but we here at Fisher are just asking for your forgiveness for not dominating on the national scene right out of the gate...Kind of took time for us to build up the program, haha our bad.

So what makes me think they will remain relevant?  Well at first people could bring up the NFL team that trains there....A lot of people reference this point, and it's a good one since it draws a lot of interest to Fisher.  But that isn't dependable since they won't remain there forever.

But we do have superior facilities, and have become an established football program.  Fisher has received a lot of exposure in Western New York for their accomplishments.  You can bring up teams like Buffalo State but that is apples to oranges because first Buffalo State never accomplished what Fisher has on a national level and second they never had the premier facilities to combine with their winning ways.  What other area schools can combine these two facets? Currently there are none.  (Side note, as I am typing this I am watching the news displaying the Bills at Fisher...I wonder if any high school players see this?? Or see it in the sports section in the paper?? God the stadium sure does look good on tv!)

So yeah Jose I think your point is irrelevant.  I've listed reasons why they are a unique school that offers things other schools can't - which would attract top talent - which makes Fisher win even more - which gives them even more prestige - which creates a cycle of constant success - which is what Ithaca currently enjoys.  So what are your reasons why they won't Jose? Since you seem so skeptical...

Oh another nice thing about having a nice stadium and facilites....Fisher constantly allows high school teams from all around the section to play at their field.  That also has a profound effect on recruiting.
