Fisher has probably undergone the biggest facility upgrade but I think there are program upgrades outside of the actual physical plant that a lot of schools have undergone.  When schools start investing in their programs (recruiting budgets, uniforms, travel, etc) they are going to get kids.

I also agree that IC has a wider geographic pull for football recruits than the other schools but I think they are getting hit on multiple fronts by the smaller regional schools.  We are competing with Fisher for the Rochester kids, with the NJ schools for the LI/NJ kids, with Union RPI for the NE kids, etc.

Alfred certainly has upgraded its football program but not necessarily its facilities. Coach Dave Murray should get paid double for not only coaching football but also being an assistant to the admissions director! Granted, bringing in 75 to 100 recruits each year may be overkill but many that don't end up playing end up staying. And most end up paying!

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

he is killing two birds with one stone----seems like a conflict of interest to me.

for those still salavating for an all USNY super conference (gro is not one of them, but that's NHNT)... here's a good idea going on in the MAC/PAC

PAC, MAC to face off in 2010, 2011

Some friends at IC and I were discussing a E8-LL week similar to this a few years ago but I was made aware of scheduling realities that could make it difficult.

fisheralum91

that would be fun to see though!

right on gro, pbr cant wait for this series to get going. the more pbr thinks about it the more cool it seems. imho all schools should do something like this in so many ways its a good thing. you get to see teams you have never seen, also pits top teams in the conf. against each other to have some idea around playoff time how your team stands up etc.. then keep rotating around. pbr would love to see the MAC do a similar thing w/ the E8 or LL as well after the 2 yr. commitment to PAC series

Booby you are so touchy.

I have pointed out in the past, and am pointing out again, that Fisher has yet to prove an ability to maintain their current status.

How does one prove that which cannot yet exist...the future.  You are suggesting that because they have not won for some undetermined number of consecutive years that they do not have staying power.  Well I guess you need to define how many years is staying power, because it has been 49-13 with 5 straight play-off years since 2003...

did fisher suck in the  early 90's? Yes.

No:  We went 17-11 in 93, 94 and 95 and were nationally ranked in '95 after starting 6-0.

Hypothetical LL/E8 matchups...

1. RPI/Hartwick - at Hartwick: RPI by 14, at RPI: RPI by 45
2. Hobart/Fisher - Hobart's tough, but Fisher is tougher right now
3. Union/Ithaca - Guys with old balls talk about the stagg bowl while the youngin's settle it on the field. Great playoff game in '05, Ithaca wins this one.
4. Rochester/Alfred - Rochester can only beat RPI. 'freds win.
5. St. Lawrence/Springfield - springfield smacks sorry saints silly
6. WPI/Utica - A poor man's RPI/Wick, tech school still wins
7. Susquehanna/Norwich - zzzzzzzzzzzzzz, huh? what? Uh... susquehanna by 1.

These matchups don't favor the LL at all... good thing its all a pipedream.

fisheralum91

agreed on the bart/fisher game--especially since it came true last season.

though it wasnt a thing of beauty to watch!
