Haven't heard much about Fisher, only that they are still pretty unsure about who is taking over for Kramer, and the defense looks really solid. Nothing first hand though, so not sure.

I'm still in Rochester for now, will be relocating to Houston probably the 2nd week in October.

I'm getting married on the 20th, so I think I'll take the Mrs. to the IC game on the 27th for a nice romantic getaway 8)

I'll be there, look forward to seeing you again! Probably the last game I'll be able to catch for quite some time.

Im looking forward to it!
I will be a good game to hit especially since im not going to hit 5 or 6 this year!!!

this was probably talked about way back when but...i was bored on a friday here at work and decided to look it up anyways.

The direct corollation between fishers success in recent memory and the bills moving their camp to the Cardinal nest.

Vosburghs records... Note the horrible records before and good after.

1991       0-9
1992       4-6
1993        5-4
1994       5-4
1995       1-9
1996       2-7
1997       1-8
1998       3-6
1999       1-8
2000       1-9  ENTER BUFFALO BILLS TRAINING CAMP
2001       3-7
2002       6-4
2003       8-3
2004       10-2
2005       8-3
2006       12-2
2007     11-2

And it looks like they will stay for at least another 5 years.  Which means Vosburgh will have a job for as long as he wants it.

Ugh..... WHEN ARE THE JETS COMING TO ITHACA?

Im very glad that deal got done with the bills---not only from the athletic side- but from a merely visability side---now people actually know that fisher exists!

I'm gonna say that the Bills going to Fisher changed ALL OF FISHER... Look at the buildings that were there pre-bills and look at enrolment pre-bills compared to post-bills,  While I was there graduating classes went from graduating in the SLC to having to graduate at the Blue Cross arena and the classes were nearing 600, since the Bills came, they have built 2 new dorms and added a third floor on the third, 3 new academic buildings and a campus center....

Yes the Bills have completly changed Fisher, and that exposure is one of the reasons why the football program started to get good the other reason is Katherine Keough came in and was a BIG supporter of athletics and helped get the programs up to standard

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

is she in financial aid or admissions?

RE: Bills made Fisher good

While I would not argue that it didn't quite a bit, the thing that people overlook is the talent they were able to find & develop.

Noah & Robinson, from Marcus Whitman & Bath respectively. They found them & developed them.

I'm not 100% sure about Noah, but nobody expected Robby to produce like he did. I watched him through high school & knew he was a beast, but I doubt many college folks even knew he existed. There are probably a lot of other stories like that as well.

But sure, the facilities help draw kids now that Fisher is on the map... but don't forget how they got on the map. Facilities don't find & develop talent.

She was the President of the College...

She passed in 2004 due to Bone Cancer (i believe)...

She was instrumental in bringing the Bills to SJF, along with Russ Brandon (SJF alum) and now COO of the Buffalo Bills.  Her commitment to the athletic department is the reason why the school has taken off in athletics and admissions...

fisheralum91

I graduated in the SLC.
Rochester house (sorry its dorsey now)had 2 floors
no stadium, minus 3 dorms, many academic halls and other facilities--yet i loved it just the same!

Pep, meanwhile, feels "crowded" at Fisher. Pep is accustomed to wide open undeveloped spaces since, after all, he's serving out a life sentence in Mayberry. Pep likes the idea that one can walk a good distance "off campus" without the danger of being struck by a 70 mph vehicle, although, admittedly, Pep was recently nearly struck by a speeding pickup with three *port-a-johns on the back. Had that occurred, it'd knocked the poop out of Pep and perhaps left a stinky mess on Main Street.

*There is no truth to any rumor that the port-a-johns were Growney runaways that had targeted Pep for his D3football.com E8 droppings about Fisher's inadequate stadium facilities.

May the Merrill urinal trough live forever!

Tags,

I don't think you were around a few days ago when some of the other guys were registering their significant others for MJQV's Seminar on How to be a Dixie Wife During Football Season.

It looks like we need to add yet another topic to the list:

-No weddings during football season.

Pep believes that family weddings during football season are the only reason that Pep's pops has missed TWO or maybe THREE Alfred home games since 1937 when Alex Yunevich arrived. Pep figures his pops has attended 310+ AU football games at Merrill Field in his 80 years, not to mention games he's attended on the road.

Pep--i will say that i am suprised that Fisher hasnt encroached on the Golf course to expand its facilities.  I understnd that the golf team is very good but that course isnt!!!!

AUPepBand

AU's golf team "took a drop" to club status some time ago. Pep actually ran into a former AU golfer while attending Harborfest activities in Oswego a few weekends ago....He had a few stories about playing golf for (Legendary) Coach Alex Yunevich.

Pep has hit the links on one occasion this summer...actually a spring outing at VanderView (golf course built on a farm in Alfred) with a Habitatter driving the cart and nearly dumping Pep in the process. Pep shot a 53 for nine, just edging his Habitatter by a stroke (coming from two strokes behind to do it on the last two holes).

Who owns the golf course next to Fisher?
