finally!!

QuoteFisher is not without seasoned talent. The Cardinals return 40 letter winners and 13 starters. Receiver is strong with seniors Jimmy Smith (54 receptions, 855 yards, 13 TDs) and Tim Marion (52-758, 6 TDs) back. Pollock posted an Empire 8-best nine sacks last fall, and 6-foot-6, 355-pound junior lineman Matt Becton led a defensive line that didn't allow any backs to surpass 100 yards through the first 12 games last fall.

Who's this Becton kid? He get any DI looks at 6-6, 355?

He was considered a project coming in, he was pretty raw.  He came around his sophmore season and really played well in a rotation.  Last year he was pretty dominant all season but a nagging injury hampered him during the playoffs.

Im a little suprised that they didnt mention anything about missing Brennan Fortune.
An Avon product and All American  that will be greatly missed!

Replacing lineman at SJF has been easy...

They bring in athletic big guys, give them great training and coaching and put them in a scheme that makes it possible for them to succeed...

Cottet (6'3", 300) and Fotia (6'8", 310) will be more than adequate replacements at the tackle spot...

fisheralum91

Understood, but Brennan was a talent.
Hope they can live up to the shoes.

Fisher alum joins Hobart coaching staff:

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College Football Head Coach Mike Cragg recently announced the addition of Jim Ryan to the Statesmen coaching staff. Ryan will mentor the Hobart receivers.

"Jim will be an excellent addition to our staff," Cragg said. "His knowledge as a former player, coupled with his coaching experience, makes him an exceptional mentor and role model for our student-athletes."

Ryan brings seven seasons of coaching experience to Hobart, including the past two as the receivers coach at Morrisville State. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Cato-Meridian High School, working with the receivers, outside linebackers, and special teams in 2001. Ryan spent the next three seasons coaching at Bishop Grimes High School. In addition to assisting with the varsity, he also served as the head coach of the Cobras' junior varsity and modified teams.

In 2000, Ryan graduated from St. John Fisher with a bachelor's degree in education. A four-year member of the Cardinals' football team, he started at wide receiver during his junior and senior seasons. In 1999, he was second on the team in receptions and third in receiving yards.

A graduate of Victor High School, Ryan was a two-time Finger Lakes All-League selection in football.

You're right FA - Fortune left big shoes to fill. Our defensive line is looking great this year - everyone has it right with our returning seniors. They're pretty dominant this year and everyone is hopeful for them to be the driving force of the team for the most part.

I've heard that we have a transfer although I don't know the details - either a RB or WR I don't remember which but we're thankful for him.

I don't know anything really besides the team is ready to play MUC this upcoming Saturday (6th) and are pretty confident. I'm interested to see just how close this game will be with Kmic returning... Still no word on a QB but I've seen them working 4 guys during practices... in fact they're doing a walk - through right now as I'm typing this.

Oh the joys of living on campus and just having the field outside my window.

I Love Fisher Football

Pep would like to request a seat at your window in November 2009 when the Saxons are playing at Growney. Probably a better view than the visitor stands, unless, of course, the college repents and chooses to follow the E8 Code of Conduct and "serve as gracious hosts to their opponents..." and installs some elevated visitor stands.

;D

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

She now has the Luxury box at Growney.   Put a grill on a balcony with some Dogs and Burgers and you could sell Tix for $20 a pop!

The FDC would like to reserve said Luxury Box on 9/27.

FDC + Grill + a "little sister" = someone hiring a criminal defense attorney
