It's about time we see a Hey Pride post.

I'm glad we've finished with all this Chris Hansen talk.  Anybody setting up a pick-em again this year?

"Nov. 15, Ithaca at Cortland State
The annual Cortaca Jug game, this year being played at Chugger Davis Field at Cortland, is always a top quality matchup, and this year, both teams could be playing for league championships in the Empire 8 and New Jersey Athletic Conference, respectively. This could be the one of the last games that Cortaca is a non-league matchup, as well. Norwich leaves the Empire 8 after this season, and the Empire 8 voted back in March to allow public institutions to join the conference. With Cortland's central location in New York state, the Red Dragons joining the Empire 8 could be a possibility. "

Anyone else in the E8 not want to see this happen.   It would suck to have the Cortaca game moved to late september because of the E8 deciding it fits better for the leagues travel schedules.  Tell Nazareth to start a football team!  Invite Any one of the 110 private schools in NY!  MonroeCommunity College wants to become a 4 year!  good god they have 14000 students as a Ju Co.  tell them to start football and invite them to the E8.  What about St. Lawrence??  Isnt clarkson ready to enter the E8?  Does Union want to jump ship? Elmira likes football, yeah?  I like Hamilton.  RIT has smart kids, insert smart football players and we're ready to roll!  Syracuse is at the E8 level now, right?

In remembrance of Virginia fans having signs... "Just Say NO! to C-State in the E8!"

Well I live in Cortland so I would love to see them in the E8. No real football reason for it, I just want Fisher to play 3 minutes from my house every other year.

I need this season to start already. I have been wearing my Fisher gear for a week now and it is starting to smell.
GO FISHER!!!

Hey Guys.....check out the OAC board for an internet link to the local radio broadcast of the MUC-SJF game this weekend.  The Ricster and HSCoach will do the game, and are pretty even-keeled announcers.

dubbz, I dont think the E8 is like the Big ten or something where the conference has a full time commissioner and staff that decides whats better for the league.  The league is going to do what Ithaca (and other members) want.  The Cortaca game would be good for the league and there would be no reason whatsoever (that I can think of) that would benefit anyone by having the game at another time of the year.  And lets also remember that up untill a few years ago the cortaca game was the second to last game of the year and not the last.  I mean, we are still talking about bus trips here, so im not sure how travel would be that big of a concern.

The E8 does have a commish... Chuck Mitrano. I also agree with JU... I don't think the league or anyone else would change where the game is in the schedule just based on the great history of it.

Im totally down with C-state in the E-8.  SJF and C-State used to be a regular game in the early 90's, of course it was pretty lopsided with some pretty bad blow outs but its pretty safe to say that SJF has closed the gap in terms of talent and what not.  It makes things alot easier than traveling to Norwich.

AUKaz00

Okay, I have officially been absent for too long from the boards.  Raising 2 kids and taking classes while working leaves too little time for my E8 brethren.  But that ends today and I'll make sure to get on here at least once a day for the rest of the season.

I'm all for Cortland in the E8, though I think we'd all prefer to have Elmira, Naz or RIT with football.  But since that's not likely to happen, any team that is relatively close to Alfred gets the nod from me.

Oh, and I'm still pro-urinal troughs!  On Saxon Warriors!!!

Hey Deuce,

Med school is keeping me pretty busy, it's definitely the big leagues. As for Cal-Mum, it's funny how I remember picking both Fox and Wilson for my 4th grade boys basketball team.  Who knows how long Coach Monacelli will stay, I don't know what else he would do?

Pat is D3football going to showcase games this year like they did last year? If so any fisher games?

John McGraw

FYI,

Cortland doesn't play at Chugger Davis Field anymore, they play at the Stadium Complex - the big shiny stadium that you can see from Rt. 281. Personally, I prefered the Cortaca games at Davis just because of the atmosphere with fans on porta bleachers (save for the grandstand) ringing the field. The game and it's seating-capacity limits at the big stadium make it feel more antiseptic.

Pat Coleman

We're not doing video games this year ($$$) but we still plan to do audio games during the regular season and throughout the playoffs, NCAA permitting.

Cal-Mum eh?  I was the President of the Chris Jones fan club and charity organization (supporting kids with giant heads and making sure Hancy doesn't go to jail) not so long ago.  In fact, to raise awareness, we even wore game-used #10 jerseys to a game in 2001.

If I dig deep enough in the dresser drawer, I still have a Caledonia American Legion T-Shirt at the house.

Cal-Mum is like SJF's prep school, there has been a ton of kids going there the past 6 years...

Not a bad HS team from section 5 to draw players from though...
