Yes if you look outside this thread there is an in-game update thread that you can use so you don't clutter up the regular discussion board,

Wierd, i thought this place was for a forum for football not houses, gas prices and the price increases in pocket protectors.....

Is IC still playing in that 3-4 set with Beyers gone?

Not that I saw. From what I remember in week 1, there were 4 D-linemen a large majority of the game.  Beyers was a big loss literally and figuratively.

I always thought IC was a better 4-3 team than a 3-4 team.  I know you had Beyers but ya didnt really have the DE's to play it right.  IC was the fastest flow team i had played against (yet we decided to run toss after toss for -2 yds even though we'd get 4-5 yds on dives and leads), the DE's you have/had are better suited for getting upfield and chasing things down rather than trying to play heads up on a tackle.

I think it depends on what personell the team has each year.  To run a 4-3, you need 4 big solid lineman.  There have been years where IC did not have the big lineman to run this defense and they were pushed around up front.  The 3-4 allows you to use 3 big lineman and have the OLBs that can play a little bit of both (DE/OLB).

Basically if you have the talent, the 4-3 is the way to go at the college level IMO.

Just caught up on 9 pages of posts...it appears SJF fans may not be aware that Robbie Brown was injured last week and will be out for 1 or more games...leg injury.

Additionally, one of our starting d-lineman reportedly quit the team this week.  Cant remember who (I will check with my source and re-post) and I checked the 2008 roster on the SJF website and they must have removed his name already because no names 'rang-a-bell'.

boo....who brought the guy that gives away injury reports?

kidding, but i like to take a page from the patriots and just list people as questionable every week for two years, keeps people guessing

does anyone else find it funny that the first time in two years that bellicheck does not put Brady on injured list, he tears his ACL and MCL and is gone for the year...

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I heard that he got dinged up last week, didnt know the extent of it though. Hopefully we can get this combo of Herrington and Carlton going this week to give them some confidence going into the IC game.

Nick Boone is the one you are referring too.  His number was #50 and he's no longer on the roster online.  So that makes 2 of 4 week 1 starters out for the year.  Trapper (6'2", 235) got the start vs BSC opposite Pollock at DE.  Rhone (6'2", 250) got the start at the DT.

In my mind a knee injury is nothing...he will recover from it and he will be fine... So I can laugh at the fact that the karma g-ds are mad at Belicheck...

He deleted a bunch of posts that were all Fisher updates from Saterday.
Wow...that is sad. If he doesnt want us to post updates and actually use and enjoy the boards why doesnt he just say so.  I am sure the advertisers would find this somewhat intriguing.

I did, 82. How about you pay attention just once instead of complaining about things?

coming from a guy who has had two surgeries on the same knee...knee injuries are FAR from nothing...pros are lucky they get the best surgeons and PTs in the country to help them rehab.

Pep has had knee problems throughout his "career." From missing a Section V basketball game with a dislocated knee cap (found it later in the back of the closet), to hyperextending it and numerous times having it "buckle" and ordered to wear a brace everytime he hit the basketball court for two years; Pep is happy now to have it back at full strength.

Pep's doctor suggested surgery but Pep didn't go for that, opting instead to wear a knee brace whenever active.

Yeah knee injuries are far from "nothing", i blewout my ACL/MCL vs Wick my jr year and my MCL is still not  "normal" it is "technically" still there but it has no tension to it so my knee can bend/rotate all sorts of wierd ways...

Ice tore his ACL (left knee) senior year of HS...missing entire baseball season and nixing any chance of ball in college (although he tried and sprained his MCL (same knee) in the process).  Spring of '07 Ice tears meniscus in left knee (while wearing knee brace), doc finds out during second surgery ACL is torn again...third surgery to mend ACL again coming spring '09.

Let me restate my statement... It is by no means saying knee injuries are nothing... but in the skheem of life... I would rather have Knee Surgery than just about every surgery I've had... and just about every surgery out there... So again I am not saying anything about knee surgeries but it could be a lot worse
