Bills game might be a tough draw, Palermo is in Colorado and he usually rallys the troops.  But I think we can try to get some guys to go to the Jets game.  I'll see what we can pull together...

No sweat if the bills game doesn't work out, but the KS cookout should be a good time.

Just got back into Rochester, a few random thoughts about the game:

-First off, congrats to fellow Websterian Tom Bergerstock for his school record-tying 5 rushing TD's in yesterday's game. Excellent job. I think the running game is in better hands than some people realize.

-Wow is Hartwick's defense terrible. As someone already mentioned, they do NOTHING well on that side of the ball. That safety #5 seems like he's a pretty decent player, but beyond him there's nothing. Guys running free in the secondary with no defender within 8 yards of them, holes that you could drive two Mack trucks trhough, poor attempts at arm tackles, etc. Teams with even above-average offenses will have put up 50 on this team without breaking a sweat. I'm not even being harsh right now. There was a point where I thought 80+ points was very realistic and even probable.

-Yanks, I never thought the game was in any doubt, even when Hartwick made it 41-35. I knew Ithaca had it in them to get at least one or two stops if needed. Hartwick's defense never showed me that same ability. I'm not saying this to be contrary.  I honestly never felt threatened.

-What a hold on Hartwick's second TD (the longish run). The Ithaca linebacker was tackled by the Hartwick blocker. I wish I was embellishing. It's not good when fans are laughing as the play happens. It was embarrassing.

-Boltus is a good QB. The system certainly helps but he'd be legit wherever he played.

-Hey IC corners, on 3rd and 5, you don't have to play 11 yards off the WR's. I cannot express how tired I am of the huge cushion our DB's give WR's.

-82, even as an Ithaca fan, I agreed with Fisher's decision to take that FG off the board in the '05 game. It was the right call under the circumstances. If memory serves me, the penalty gave Fisher the ball inside Ithaca's 10 yd line. Fisher had one of the best RB's in the country, one of the best offenses and Ithaca's defense was giving up yards in chunks. Besides, didn't the second FG hit the goalpost? He still should have hit that. I completely understand Fisher's rationale in taking that FG off the board.

Big game next weekend. Sounds like both teams have some question marks. I hope Juvan's lower-body injury improves as the week goes on.

new Top 25 out.  SJF holds pat at #11, IC moves up to #16.

#16 at #11....

Hey BOMBERSSSSS!  Sorry for the patchy participation.  Seems that these Limeys over here never heard of high speed internet.  I guess that is what you get when you don't have Al Gore inventing crap for you.  FDC, I hope the turn out has improved.  Just know that you have one screaming fan all teh way over here.  Listened to the game on Saterday.  Seems as if Berger had himself a bit of a hay day!  Was it more 'Wicks defense, or is this kid legit?  Time to get the smack talking fired up for Fisher!  I am starting to ALMOST look forward to this game as much as playing those hicks in the county over.  Curious to see if SJF's typically stifling defense can hold back the newly awakened offensive machine that is:

the one

the only

IC Bombers!

taking points off the board is your classic case of Monday morning quarterbacking.

"My coach sucks, he's an idiot!"

But Foster does suck and he is an idiot...he cost SJF the Del Val  play-off game in '04, in similiar style to the IC OT loss in 2005.  Had QB (was it Nick S.?) throwing a telegraphed out route with a bit over a minute to go and the lead and Del Val had no timeouts???  It got picked and Del Val scored for the second time in the last 4 mins.

was at that game and was one of the most exciting best finishes pbr has ever witnessed...still brings a smile to pbr's face....  8)

I'd say a little of both.  I watched online and as has been said, the 'wick D was horrible.  That being said, I think he's a good back and with Juvan and the WR's clicking it makes running easier.

Biggest issue for me going into Fisher is Juvan's ankle.  He didn't look too steady on it by the end of the game Saterday.

I am curious to see, A) what Ithaca's Offense can do against a Fisher Defense which has been pretty solid... and B) can the fisher offense turn it up a notch against an Ithaca D that has been keeping other teams in the game for a little too long

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

As of right now I would have to think that Ithaca is the more polished team.  But Fisher is very talented, and has yet to gel offensively.  Plus, the game is at Growney Stadium.  My prediction:

Fisher  28
Ithaca  27
St. John Fisher College...King of the East

theoriginalupstate

Early week prediction for the defacto E8 championship:

IC: 24
SJF: 21

Me and a former all conference O-lineman form SJF were discussing the team and this could be a building year for the program.  They might just be a bit too young and inexperienced at key positions to make a run this year.

gobombers15

If Fisher tries to run the ball straight at Ithaca, the Bombers will win. That's a change from years past. If Fisher changes it up, spreads the field and takes advantage of the cushions Bombers' corners are giving, Fisher has a good shot at this game. I look forward to it. Can't tell you the last time I've went to two Ithaca games in a row.

Looks like some good matchups this upcoming weekend for the E8.  IC-SJF always a good game to watch.  The saxons travel to Massachusetts to take on Springfield.  Don't know too much about them this year.  Any one with information?  However I do know that springfield is tough at their place no matter what their record is.   I wasn't a saxon in 2004, but I remember my teammates who played that year telling me about the Hi-Lo penalty that Alfred got called for, yet Springfields entire blocking scheme consists of it.  Coach Murray was flagged with a 15 yarder after that play.

superman57

So fisher will win the game if they can score more touchdowns than Ithaca, and Ithaca will win the game if they can keep fisher out of the endzone...

Just kidding... I really am not sure about this game... neither fisher or Ithaca have impressed me... I have a hard time going against fisher at growney... but the offense has been lackluster so far
