This may have already been covered on the boards today, but the Ithaca paper had an article about Juvan sitting out practice on wednesday, and that he was "day to day" for the Fisher game.

As much as it helps Fisher to have him out, I would like to see him play. Is there any truth to the news? He said that he would be fine in the paper. Stepnick said the same thing last year before the MUC game. I don't know. Any information?

It was discussed earlier today... very shortly...

My two cents on the subject is that it will be a VERY different game if Juvan does not play... I am sure Grastorf is a solid QB... BUT he played for Niskayuna who in the section two world of football is Norwich... so he has NEVER played in a game this big... it might be too overwhelming for his first game... on the other hand... Ithaca is good and their coaches are good if it is Grastorf, I am sure they will have a Matt Cassel game plan

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Not that it's entirely relevan, but Ithaca went on the road in the 2001 playoffs and won a pair of games with their backup QB, scoring 35 and 27 points. They also played a WR or two at DB.

Coaching staffs and good game plans can make a big difference. Obviously, Juvan is the starter for a reason, but Ithaca's got some weapons (Crandall, Brian W., Bergerstock) on offense, and should be competitive. Of course, you want to see Juvan in there, simply because he gives them the best chance to win, but you hope to win without him.

And while I can't speak to anything other than Box Scores, it doesn't seem to me that Fisher's got the same offense they've had in years past. Don't get me wrong, I think it's going to be a very tough game for Ithaca, but I'm not convinced they'd need, let's say, 35-40 points to get it.

Yes they might not need 35-40 points to get a win... but how many points has fisher given up to Ithaca in the past two years... Fisher is not Hartwick.... this is gonna be a game where the winner will be lucky in my head to get to 30

Yeah the offense isn't as good but the defense is solid.  Giving up only 27 points to Mount Union (20 if the fumble that gave Mount Union the ball deep in Fisher territory didn't happen)  and 7 points to Buff State and 17 to U of R....They aren't bad.  I don't see Ithaca's offense as being on the same level as Mount Union but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they will score about 24 points.  The question is how will Ithaca's D fair against such a staggeringly mediocre offense?? lol

Early Prediction

Fisher 25 (Touchdown/Touchdown/Field Goal/Safety/Safety/Safety/Safety)
Ithaca 24 (Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal)

sjfcards

I think Ithaca's problem is that this game seemed to be about Ithacas offense vs Fishers D. Without Juvan in the game thfe offense has to take a major hit. He is a real athletic QB that can make things happen. I just think it would be tough for IC to get a win on the road without Juvan. Although, I don't know anything about the IC backup.
GO FISHER!!!

theoriginalupstate

I'd put a ton of money on Juvan playing, considering that Juvan is the only Ithaca qb that hasnt beaten SJF since they began this series.

Fish Folks - Is the park n ride still the only place you can cook and drink before the game?

The parking lot up by the new school of nursing can be used for tailgating, but it is really not that great a spot for it. More of a hassle than anything dealing with the security drive bys, and the students going in and out most of the morning. Also, it is a little cramped in there. The back corner is a good option tho.

It is just more fun in the park and Ride. More people tailgating, more room for games, and very little problems from the over excited, not enough to do, Fisher Security.

This guy will be there, with a group of about 10. Stop by the red tent and frisbee game for some drinks and good times.

Thanks SJFC- MIOH and Tecmo may take you up on the offer.  What bomber posters will be there this weekend?  Dubbz?  NSRB?  Enforcer?  Highlife?  TecmoYellow?  Hungover Bomber?

MIOH hopes you all make the trip it should be a good one... It will be interesting to see Juvan can be effective.  I'm sure he'll start, I just hope he can get out of the way when Fisher sends the blitz.  He couldn't move the 2nd half against Hartwick... luckily they never came within 17 feet of him.

Go Bombers

GB15 will be in attendance. Looking forward to it. Hear there's going to be some foul weather. I like it. Finally get Fisher in weather other than 70 and sunny.

Are you guys really debating whether Juvan is going to play? Come on, he could hardly jog onto the field for the last 2 1/2 quarters against Hartwick and he never came out. He's going to play.

Well....technically speaking Ohio State University did manage to squeak out a win over the REAL Men of Troy - the Troy University Trojans - last week.

But that's just technically speaking....    ;D

Fisher 25 (Touchdown/Touchdown/Field Goal/Safety/Safety/Safety/Safety)
Ithaca 24 (Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal/Field Goal)

Nice prediction

I think Fisher's Defense is tough to talk about. They allowed 500 yards to Mt. Union, which is to be expected.

But Buffalo State's QB's have only completed 14 passes for 103 yards, 0 TD and 3 INT this season. So they're not exactly the greatest show on turf. Ok, let's be realistic, their passing game is a joke. They may have a solid running game, but any team with a decent defense should be able to beat them. Their offense was held to 13 points against TCNJ untill they tacked on a couple of garbage time scores late.

Rochester's guys are a little better, but 28-58 for 1 TD and 3 INT is pretty bad as well.

I think Ithaca's going to be the first team we'll be able to watch against Fisher and say "This gives you a good indication of the real Fisher defense." You can't hold the MUC game against them because of the quality of competition, but at the same time, I don't think you can look at the UR and Buff. State game and think Ithaca's offense, even with Juvan banged up, represents anything close to them. The truth is somewhere in the middle. I'd expect something like 24-23, or 28-24 tommorrow with the winner being the team who can avoid turnovers
