Quote from: SJFF82 on October 01, 2008, 03:26:22 PMDid either Buff St. or B-Port ever monkey stomp IC 3 years in a row, or ever hold them out of the end-zone?

Both actually had win streaks against IC of at least 3 games.

Yet, we're still here.

The only post that would have been more predictable from you would have been one explaining why you didn't cheat when you were at Fisher...
"Both actually had win streaks {not monkeystomps} against IC of at least 3 games"  So the answer is no counselor?

...and what do you mean by the latter insult?

dew----3rd in the east?
behind cortland and del val?
wow.
im not feelin the love!   :D

Cortland was high in the poll, they haven't lost, and they've beaten a couple of NJAC foes.

DelVal upsets two top 10 teams in consecutive weeks, convincingly against Salisbury, I might add.

How could Fisher jump those two? At the same time it would punish Cortland for beating the opponents they've faced.

so then you had Cortland ahead of SJF to start the season?  Otherwise, you either 'punished' them for beating Buff St and/UR or 'punished' them for their loss to the team that doesnt lose

How about (c) none of the above. He could have had Fisher ahead of Cortland to start the season and dropped Fisher only a couple spots after the MUC loss. I agree they shouldn't be "punished," but, at the end of the day, they lost by 30 points. You have to move teams ahead that beat their opponent.  If Fisher took MUC to OT or lost late in the game, it may have been different with Fisher staying status quo. I think #3 is right about where the Cards should be right now.

You have to take the good with the bad that comes from playing MUC. The bad being you may fall a couple of spots in a regional poll, the good is that Fisher is probably an at-large lock if they don't win the conference and go 8-2. I'd rather have the latter than some meaningless regional poll rank.

gobombers, please re-read my post and then yours...you agree with me to the letter.  You have misunderstood me and the subsequent posts have followed your lead.

I did not knock DC for using the MUC loss against SJF.  I simply posed an 'either or scenario'   Either he had Cortland ahead of SJF to start the season, such that they remain ahead of SJF having yet to lose OR he has 'punished' SJF for losing to MUC and/or their collective performance ag. Buff and UR.  It was a question posed to DC, not an affirmative statement that he wrongly punished SJF for their blowout loss to MUC.

Everyone else piled on by claiming that gobombers hit the nail on the head.  Problem is, that the nail isnt really a nail, it is a screw.  Gobombers just simply illustrated my point, that DC EITHER had Cortland ahead of SJF to start OR bumped them past SJF upon the MUC loss....NOW WE KNOW IT WAS THE LATTER ACCORDING TO GOBOMBERS.

SJF82, you are one petty dude. On top of that, you are also incorrect. My post was not agreeing with you in the slightest. You stated that Dewcrew either a) had Cortland ranked ahead of Fisher to start the season, or b) Fisher was "punished" for losing to the team that doesn't lose (MUC). As I have already illustrated, it was likely none of the above.

I think where you argument fails you is in your use of the word "punishment." You have convinced yourself that ANY drop in a regional poll following a loss to MUC is "punishment." To me, dropping someone from #1 to #3 in the region for a loss to the top team is not "punishment." When you lose, you drop! Especially when it's a 33-3 thrashing. That shouldn't be news to you. A "punishment" would have been have if Fisher had been dropped to #7 or #8 for losing to the best team. But they weren't. They were dropped two spots.

And if you need a frame of reference, Ithaca was dropped from #1 to #6 in the regional poll after a loss of roughly the same margin by which Fisher lost to MUC. Fisher is a top-10 team. Is Ithaca being "punished?"

Bottom line, your team has played four games. It's not even Week 5, for god sakes. Things will work themselves out over the next 6 weeks. Stop taking it as a personal affront that other people don't think your alma mater is the best team in the region a week before the halfway point.

Gobombers...I sincerely apoologize for having offended yous.  I thohgt that by puting quotes around the werd "PUNISHMENT" that you wouldnt then you use it as such a literal interpretasion for later arguments.

I have not convibnced myself of anything when it comes to the Regionle rankings..  I SIMPLY ASKED DC A QUESTION ABOUT HIS POSITION....UNDERSTAND???????????

I reiterate, you are one petty dude.

You began this whole charade by probably innocently mistaking my question to DC for an affirmative statement about SJF being punished for their loss to MUC.  All I tried to do is point out to you that you misunderstood me.  Now you can see that it was never my position that sjf was being punished.  How could they be punished, they are the #1 team in the East in the polls.  And your only response is that I am a petty dude...how cute.  You could at least be a man and admit that you mistook my question to DC about his rankings for what my position on the topic was.

How can you even say that you weren't making a statement? You may have asked a question (did you have Cortland ahead of Fisher from the beginning), but you undoubtedly followed that up with a statement (otherwise, you punished them for beating UR/Buff St or losing to the team that doesn't lose). Call me crazy, but that seems like an affirmative statement. And, yes, you are the very definition of petty. Not trying to be cute. Just honest.

Hey this looks pretty interesting...If I read it correctly, this league is designed for players who never got the chance to play in college?
