didnt coyote joes get shut down?   im a big fan of Apub live...

gobombers15

Yeah, Coyote Joe's is done. Has been for awhile. I'd guess at least a year, probably more. I drove by there the other day on the way to Dino BBQ and it's now some restaurant. I've always had fun at Pig & Whistle and, as much as I hate to admit it, Vinyl (the old A-Pub) has been a good time the few times I've went.

GET OUT THE WAY RPI AND CORTLAND...

Can anyone say ........

TASTE IT!

But serioulsy, wow.  Good news for the bombers I guess.  Now Alfred looks to be in the mix as well.

I still taste it, can I spit it out now?

Not news, but SJF cannot finish a drive.  'Wick and their fans were ready for that game, were loud, and it carried over onto the field in the form of very spirited play.  SJF's sideline was noticeably  quiet as usual and that of course seemed to spill over onto the field also.  It seems that 'we' are going through the motions week in and week out.   The talent is there as evidenced by the statistical output every week.

Congrats to 'Wick, even though I only like B-port less, because they come to play every year and I respect that.

I do wonder why such a helter-skelter play call with 2 time-outs left at the 17 yd line?  We have 4 solid wide-outs, and a QB, who seems to make his mistakes when he is rolling out.  Why not have him drop back and throw the ball a couple times, and worst case, you kick the FG.  Instead the play looked like a designed roll-out with an option to run.  It looked panicked from the snap.....god, I hate losing to Hartwick  >:(  (of course hind-sight is 20-20 so I am just lamenting, not second-guessing the coaches!)

I still don't know how it happened! I just can't figure out SJF and Wick for that matter.

Hartwick's easy to figure out. They're a team that scores a lot, gives up a lot, and usually, doesn't have the talent to stick with the big boys. Every so often, they get a few breaks and eke out a 2 or 3 point win, but most of  the time, it doesn't work and they get blown out

That's 21 games against what you could consider the "Good" E8 teams--Utica and Norwich excluded. A 4-17 record with the 4 wins by a total of 11 points, and only one of them coming on the road. 14 losses by 20 points or more and 6 losses by 30 points or more. I'm sorry, but this is not a team I will take seriously untill they can start winning either

A) More consistenly
B) On the road
C) By more than a touchdown

Four nailbiters surrounded by over a dozen beatings does not a great team make.

The good news is, for you Fisher fans, that really, you control your own destiny. If alfred beats the 'Wick on Saturday, you're in the drivers' seat thanks to that win over IC.

Ithaca is still behind an eight ball. They'd need one of two scenarios to happen:

1) They run the table and Alfred--or anyone, beats SJF
2) They end up in a 3-way tie with Wick and Fisher and their SOS is better than SJF's--since Hartwick is playing a pretty awful OOC slate

good/interesting research Bombers.  Ahhhh....it is that time of the year...SOS talk

Jonny Utah

And according the to the criteria, the MUC game doesnt have much impact on the SOS for SJF?

The MUC and Salisbury games are both "out of region" so im not sure, but I dont think they count against them with the SOS and NCAA regional rankings.

But ive been known to be wrong a couple times, so whatever...

Also, the E8 does not use, "Opponents' Opponents SOS"

I was thinking more for the at large bid.

The following primary criteria (not in priority order) will be reviewed:
• Win-loss percentage against regional opponents.
• Strength-of-schedule (only contests versus regional competition).
- Opponents' Average Winning Percentage (OWP).
- Opponents' Opponents' Average Winning Percentage (OOWP).
• In-region head-to-head competition.
• In-region results versus common regional opponents.
• In-region results versus regionally ranked teams.
If the evaluation of the primary criteria does not result in a decision by the committee, the following secondary criteria (for ranking and selections) will be evaluated:
• Out-of region head-to-head competition.
• Overall Division III won-loss percentage.
• Results versus common non-Division III opponents.
• Results versus all Division III ranked teams.
• Overall win-loss percentage.
• Results versus all common opponents.
• Overall Division III strength of schedule
• Should a committee find that evaluation of a team's win-loss percentage during the last 25 percent of the season is applicable (i.e., end of season performance), it may adopt such criteria with approval from the championships committee.
Additionally, input is provided by regional advisory committees for consideration by the Division III football committee. In order to be considered for selection for Pools B or C, an institution must play at least 50 percent of its competition against Division III in-region opponents. Coaches' polls and/or any other outside polls or rankings are not used as a selection criterion by the football committee for selection purposes.

Well if SJF wasnt good for one dud E-8 game a year we wouldnt be having these conversations every year....

It would be nice if they can capture the E-8 w/o a co champ for once...

gobombers15

Is it fair to say that if Fisher loses to Salisbury this weekend, their at-large chances are probably toast?

thats a fair assessment, not many teams with 3 losses get at large bids

maxpower

Much as I'm not a Fisher fan, it sucks that Fisher's overly ambitious schedule is biting them in the ass while Hartwick could win the conference having played one less game than everyone else.
