The Empire 8 has its automatic bid through 2010. If it does not have seven schools playing football in 2011, it's back to Pool B.

Pat, any knowledge of who the E8 is looking at for that seventh bid? We're all assuming C-state or Brockport State. You hear anything?

God... I think a Jug game with conference implications every year might be a bit much to handle...

Its already huge now with almost yearly pool C implications, it would be crazy to have the Jug possibly decide a pool A slot as well....

It would completely trump all the built up angst developed over the years between SJF and IC...

bombers79- that was a well thught out post

one that i dont agree with totally- but we can agree to disagree.

where did my buddy fish fan go-- i wanted him to continue with his witty banter

I still think C-State is the top choice but I remember Dan having some inside information that they weren't interested or hadn't been approached, can't remember which.

I think the second choice is in Pennsylvania, not Brockport.

fisheralum91

i remember the talk that the e8 wanted to keep the members as similar as possible in terms of public/ private- tuition enrollment etc.......is there anybody that could fit that niche?

JQV

That is what drove my speculation to Pennsylvania originally FA.  We didn't start thinking about Cortland until the E8 unexpectedly announced that they'd consider a public school.

Someone just needs to convince RIT to restart their program or get Elmira to start one.

I'm sure that the E8 will find someone to replace Norwich, but I'm nervous that Springfield will follow suit and join the NAC.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Yea I would hope Springfield wouldn't leave and I don't think that they would.  Thats a school, (like Ithaca and Union) that has a very storied football tradition and I would think they like the competition in the E8.

Fisher should leave the E8 and join the LL.

If The E8 can't find a team to replace Norwich, do the teams (football only) disband to find other conferences as affiliate members or just stick it out in Pool B?

I think another team will join as a football member. I just don't know which one. I think this will help because the E8 in March voted to allow public institutions to join the E8 as associate members.

See, that's what makes it fun. There are good arguments, but if we keep it all civil and logical, we can all remain friends and the Karma abounds!!!
