bombers79- that was a well thught out post

one that i dont agree with totally- but we can agree to disagree.

See, that's what makes it fun. There are good arguments, but if we keep it all civil and logical, we can all remain friends and the Karma abounds!!!

Not going to lie Bombers I thought that was a good post as well.  Well played sir.

Hopefully SJF learns from the scheduling blunder this year.  Looking at the regional rankings, a tough OOC schedule obviously did not help SJF.  Like someone just mentioned, we should have kept the Brockport's and Mt. Ida's on our schedule.

You're a moron - those kind of teams do nothing for the program.

True Fisher fans want our program to be the best, by playing the best - If you want us to play the Mt. Idas  and pad a record then go support the likes of Curry. . .

That's an interesting debate nestled in the anger...

Because while playing great teams like SJF has certainly makes a team tougher because of the level of competition, it makes it more difficult to get an at-large bid if you stumble in conference...

Back in 1991, IC had two straight games against tough D-II opponenets, Springfield and AIC. They lost to Springfield and almost lost to AIC save for a miraculous comeback. Had they lost that second game, they would have likely missed the playoffs. As it were, they won the whole shebang that year, but in later seasons, losing games to tough D-II schools like AIC, Mansfield, etc. would keep some good Bomber teams from the playoffs.

Look at how Buffalo State does things. They've always played a BRUTAL OOC schedule. You could argue though, that it's hurt the program. They've been unable to get any OOC victories, and since 2000, a team that was always in the playoffs and beating Ithaca has since gone 16-59. Yes, they've played a tough schedule, but they don't have anything to show for it.

On the other hand, go too weak, and you're losing the chance to have impressive wins to help in the voters minds...

It's a delicate balance, but SJF sadly may have gone too far.

Fisher should leave the E8 and join the LL.

If The E8 can't find a team to replace Norwich, do the teams (football only) disband to find other conferences as affiliate members or just stick it out in Pool B?

I think another team will join as a football member. I just don't know which one. I think this will help because the E8 in March voted to allow public institutions to join the E8 as associate members.

How about Curry or Plymouth St? Aren't they national powers?

I know this is just a joke but I presume they aren't on the list for the same reason Norwich wants out...it costs too damned much to make the trips.

fishfan

It makes more sense for Fisher to join the LL, than to find a team to replace Norwich. E8 has known this for two years, but no one wants to join the E6. If the OOC does not mean anything, than why not schedule cream-puffs. The bottom line goal is to make the NCAA's, not an ECAC bowl. Both CB's are 3rd year varsity players, neither is young or inexperienced, the ONLY problem I have with this edition has been the play from the QB. It's the turnovers, and to date this has not been fixed.

it makes little sense for fisher to join the Liberty league, the trips to Union, RPI and Susquehanna would be harsh...

It wouldn't be either, I don't think. Curry is pretty established in the NEFC and Plymouth State, I think, is going into the new NAC. Even if they aren't (I'm doing it off the top of my head) they are pretty established where they are as well.

Not only that, the E8 NEEDS members, not to lose any more!

Yeah, but the REAL bottom line is to eventually win an NC. If you play crappy teams every year to get to the NCAA's, you're going to get walloped--or, as I like to call it, "Hartwicked"--in the first or second round and Salem will be just as far away as it was when you were hosting UMass-Dartmouth in a meaningless ECAC game.

dewcrew you know I was being sarcastic right? Actually my shots at the NEFC teams are kind of rude but how teams from that conference get ranked by some drives me crazy. So I think I just keep taking it out on them time and again.

I suggest not taking it out on the teams, rather on the NCAA rating process  :)

Thanks for the suggestion its been noted but I don't ever take it out on the players. I respect any student athlete at any d3 school, including those in the NEFC. I just don't respect those who feel those teams are worthy of ranking NEFC teams higher than other East teams that are clearly heads and shoulders better. I also don't respect the fans who talk out of their ass that these NEFC teams belong with the higher level eastern teams. I would expect the same disrespect and annoyance from MUC fans if I believed my team (who per say was receiving votes and/or getting ranked ahead of or on the same level as MUC) were playing on their level. So that is what chat boards are for to express opinions towards teams, leagues and other fans opinions. So I never mean to insult the players, I just like to make points that I feel are valid. My previous post simply admitted that I do tend to beat a dead horse regarding the topic of the NEFC teams. Hope this clears it up.

pg04

Hopefully the NEFC can get more coherent posters that will actually cross over and discuss in other boards.  Then I think we'd have a more level conversation.
