Well jeeze PG i was kind of joking with the mercy part, but I do think they will try to mix it up a little bit and not have Mount Union play in the Eastern bracket for the 2nd consecutive year.

I would say we won't have to worry about MUC at all if Cortland wins, therefore, all Non-IC fans should cheer for Cortland  ;)

boobyhasgameyo

I mean everyone agrees that if Cortland goes undefeated they will most likely be a number 1 seed, but the Mules are ranked ahead of them already in the national rankings so if Cortland finishes with 1 loss but Muhlenberg remains undefeated why would the committee not try and import a team from PA to the East bracket instead of Mount Union again?

Interesting nugget: in the last 10 years, the home team has not won 2 straight home games in the series. Cortland won the 2006 game in Cortland. Not saying it means anything, just an interesting tidbit. I hope this holds true at least one more time.

I think the East Region bracket will end up looking something like this:

1.  Muhlenberg (10-0)
2.  Ithaca (9-1)
3.  Plymouth State (10-1)
4.  Cortland State (9-1)
5.  SJF (7-3)
6.  Montclair State (9-1)
7. Albright (8-2)
8. RPI (8-1)

Hoping that Fisher takes care of Alfred next week.  Also hoping Muhlenberg is imported and NOT MUC.

Where is Hobart?

They've got the inside track on the LL, a win vs UR gets them the AQ...

FA: I think you're off a bit. Ithaca won't jump to a 2. No way, I don't care if they beat Cortland by 40.
Hobart's missing too.
Plymouth is also way too high at three, they'd be a 6/7 at the highest.

Seriously?  They were ranked 3rd in the east region last week before RPI  lost.  If they beat Cortland by 40 there would be a 99% chance that they would be the #1 or #2 seed in the east.

I mean, those are the NCAA rankings right?  Ithaca has to be #2 this week, so there can't be any chance they would move down if they beat the #1 team in the rankings next week, so I just don't see how it would be possible for the NCAA not to rank them #2 in the east if they are already going to be #2 (or #1) in the final east rankings anyway.

With a win against Cortland I definitely think they'd be number 2 behind the dreaded Purple Raiders...

I just don't think they'd do that to the East two years in a row.  They will have some mercy on us and import another team like the Mules and maybe give us a fighting shot at actually winning our own region.
Yeah, I don't see Mount Union in the East bracket at all this year.   Keep in mind, the NC double A_ _ H _ _ _ _ (name that movie) pay for all travel expenses in the playoffs and, especially now, they want to cut down on overnight travel expenses as much as they can.    If Fisher wins, a trip to Hobart, Cortland or even (gulp) Ithaca would be better for the 'man' in the overall ledger.    I never said it made sense; it just it what it is.

The movie is 'The Program'...a good one.

I can't see Mount Union in the East again this year either. I think if Fisher wins, like you, I think they can go to Cortland, Hobart, or RPI...I don't think the commitee would set up 2 conference teams in the first round.
GO FISHER!!!

Boy, that makes a lot of sense to me. I think if IC wins they will be the two seed behind Muhlenberg, or another import. If Cortland wins, I think they are the one seed, and IC drops to 4 or 5.

Because the North already has a possible #1 Seed... The team that's ranked #2 in the country, North Central.  I'm not saying it's going to happen, I just don't think the option can be shut out for the sake of hopefulness.

Exactly, the NCAA is not going to take the "MUC was in the east last year so they're not going this year" route if they're trying to get the best 4 teams as #1 seeds.

If Cortland loses someone is going to be imported, period!

If Cortland wins and due to the the RPI loss the #2 seed will be imported.

There's never been any evidence of this, only that they want to cut down on airplane trips.

I was very impressed with the way Alfred played IC today...The score doesnt do the game justice..They are a very good ball club who I honestly believe will beat Fisher next weekend. I have been to many of the Fisher home games this year incuding the IC Fisher game...and the only game that Fisher truly impressed me was the IC game..They came to play beat IC . All the other games I watched I was not as impressed with Fishers play. Alfred is a sleeper team and honestly do not get the credit they deserve. A very very good well coached team. Almost wish Cortaca wasn't next weekend because I would love to go back down to Alfred. Its gonna be a good close game like todays.

Great job Alfred, BEAT FISHER!!!

Kinda sounds like you are pullin hard for the AU win in anticipation of an IC loss to Cortland...

I guess I didn't realize they were third in the regional rankings. I guess I don't understand why. They must not put a lot of stock in that 37-6 stomping by SJF.
Hmm. My apologies. I guess if they were third, they could be a 2. But as has been said above, if Cortland wins, IC at 8-2 would be a lower seed, or not at all in.

If Cortland wins....IC is likely out altogether, not 4-5 unless SJF loses....you knew that, probably just an oversight
