I was at the game yesterday, and there was a ton of positive cherring for Fisher. After the game as the players left the field "ALL" the parents and fans clapped as the players left the field. Memo to E8, other than the opening drive, the offensive play calling was HORRIBLE. We had A receiver #11, quit on a route multiple times, Our QB still is clueless with this passing game after 10 games. Tim Marion and the Defense played there ASSES off, but this offense SUCKS. If Parks comes back look for no improvement next year. E8 you said the middle of the field would be open all day, how many times did Fisher throw the ball down the middle? E8 when you watch the films today please give us another breakdown. Also, who decided to switch kickers, Tater kicked all the extra points and field goal except the last one.
Fans are Fans without them there would be no games, and if you can't take the booing then don't play the game.

Pep was rather disappointed in the Fisher fan turnout. The team was playing for an NCAA AQ. Would have thought more would be there, no matter the weather. And, while Pep has certainly said "BOO" a few times at the zebras, Pep would NEVER EVER "Boo" his Saxons. Never. These are not professional athletes. They are not paid to perform. They are student-athletes and deserve the utmost of respect. They put hours and hours of hard work on and off season into improving their game and their strength, all that while attending classes to earn a degree and establish themselve in a career probably that has little or nothing to do with football. Perhaps because they share facilities at Fisher, you've confused your Cardinals with the Bills?

Boltus is probably good enough to move up the ladder, but Team Boltus is seriously up to debate.

by the way... Boltus is getting serious looks from the NFL...

check this link out... its from the QB scout from the 49ers on the 49ers website.

http://49ers.com/pressbox/news_detail.php?PRKey=4851

He writes a ton about Boltus in his short article I couldnt believe it... here is a small quote

"Out of all the quarterbacks in my area, I have three guys, who I think have the chance to play quarterback in the NFL and Boltus is one of them. Granted, there are quarterbacks who I will be projecting at another position, but of the three guys, he's one of them."

According to the game stats, Pieri kicked all PATs and the regulation field goal and had his final PAT blocked. Tater then kicked the OT field goal. Perhaps the blocked PAT had something to do with the switch to Tater for the OT field goal? Or perhaps Pieri got hurt on the blocked PAT? Pep is only presenting possibilities for that decision.

PEP... thats sounds more realistic... you dont just roll out a new kicker on a potentially game winning extrapoint/field goal for the heck of it...

BTW, any Fisher fans at the game yesterday wish to comment on the performance of the AU Pep Band? Now if you want to "Boo" the band, heckle the band or in any other way make fun of our gregarious group, Pep would be flattered to take all cheap shots on the boards.

Two most critically successful cheers heard from the band yesterday were:
"Block that kick!"
and
"Win that toss!"

Pat,

This will be a tough selection show and many teams will have a beef. Playing devil's advocate I would have to ask you again about montclair. Using your criteria of regional rankings it would appear that Hartwick would be ranked higher than Rowan, Montclair, and Curry. Why not Hartwick using your logic for selections. Geographically they would also fit into the East Bracket.

First off, I am not a coach.   Second, Tim Bailey was #22 in the nation in QB efficiency with a 147.90 rating coming into yesterday's game only 30 or so points behind Boltus (#6 in the country) and was #2 in the E8.  Over 20 touchdowns which is only the 4th player in SJFC history to throw for over 20 TDs in a season.  And all of this being done AS A SOPHOMORE!!!  This is HARDLY "CLUELESS"... Im going to deflect the "clueless" commment back as more of a fitting description of what you said.     Fisher did use the middle of the field quite often, actually.... especially with the shovel pass (and I do question why they did not use that more often.   It was a tremendous call at the right time, but should have used it more).    The kicking game was as inconsistent as it could be this year.   Check the roster FishFan, Tater did not kick all of the PATs and Field goals yesterday...c'mon now.    When you are 8/15 (53%) going into yesterdays game for FGs, chances are that the hook will be quicker than normal in certain situations.

Let me ask the people who are moaning and groaning and those same Fisher fans who were complaning about everything but the lack of ketchup for their hot dogs yesterday.  If Pieri makes the PAT, are we having these 'Fire Parks' chants?  Probably not.   You are probably boasting about how incredible this team performed when down 30-14 late in the 2nd half.  I am not sticking up for anyone, I am just being realistic.   Even in the loss, to come back down by that much with the clock at your mercy, in the rain, on the road with a position to win is all about heart.  If your team is not on the same page, that comeback is nearly impossible.

I always love that logic. "If you can't take the booing, don't play." Do random people come to YOUR job and criticize you for the things that you do wrong? Do you get booed by people for screwing up in your job?

You think these kids want to do poorly? You think they're unaware that they've struggled this season and haven't lived up to expectations? What does booing accomplish? You think the QB's going to magically play better because a few people in the stands are booing him? Like he'll say: "Well, I was discouraged and frustrated by my performance, but now that the fans are booing, I'll play better"? If anything, he's going to play worse.

These kids aren't professionals, they're kids who play because they love football. I've been a Bomber fan for 20 years, and I've seen teams struggle, I've seen teams win it all. Regardless of the record, I'm sure all the SJF kids are trying hard. I've never booed a player. I've been frustrated at results, but never booed a player. Maybe this sounds too much like JV football pep talk stuff to you, but do you really think booing makes a situation better? As for the coaching staff, it's wise to remember "The other team pays coaches too."

Additionally, I doubt the fans are as necesary a requirement for D-3 sports as you make them out to be. Over half of D-3 teams draw less than 2,000 fans per game and 100 of them have less than 1,500. They're not playing in front of packed houses. Fans coming to games doesn't exactly provide the lifeblood to the program

E8 does the color commentary for WHTK 1280's coverage of cardinal games he's still pretty close with the coaches and has access to game films...

E8 pointed out that the middle of the field would be wide open, and the coaches probably said the same thing, yet every time they blitzed and left their secondary in man coverage they threw those deep passes down the sidelines and I dont think they completed one of them...

82, I know I sound like a dick but seriously how can you run the same ineffective offense all year.  You would have to figure if after the Buff State and UR showings from the offense (scheme and playcalling) that you might want to switch back to what you did so well the two previous years.  IMO, the IC win gave them a sense of false hope with the offense.  It seemed like the entire year that they were getting too cute with their packages and play calling, bringing Brown in for goal line packages is probably one of the worst personnel and strategic moves ever.  I would rather have Foster back than sit through this offensive scheme and play calling again next year, and everyone knows how I feel about Foster...

I know Bailey is only a sophomore and he can make plays but he had more turnovers in one year than Kramer had in his JR and SR years COMBINED.  Makes you wonder if they honestly gave Hammell or Eick a legit shot or if they were too enamored with the "big plays" he made in their preseason scrimmage...

Here's a thought though...do you think it's difficult to install a new offense during the season? If you realize by say, week 3 or 4 that this offense won't get you the points you need, wouldn't it be a bit hard to get a whole new scheme in place in a few weeks? I mean, yeah, you make adjustments and tweaks, but it seems like you're talking about a whole new style of play, which I'd imagine would be rather difficult to install on the fly.

If they displaced the notion of switching back to their old offense because it would take too long or it would be too hard to install would be extremely foolish considering that they ran it last year. I dont think it would have been an issue to go back to what you were doing the previous year...

They only had one FR that saw any sort of significant time and he was a WR...

I dont want to continually beat a dead horse so this will be my last post about it, probably a relief to everyone, but who's bright idea was it to run a spread offense when you have no legit speed at QB or RB??

Its not like we're dealing with SEC athletes, its not like Tim Tebow and Percey Harvin are on the roster...

They picked the wrong offense to switch too considering their personnel...

Fair enough on the personnel issue. But did they have the personnel to run last year's offense with this year's guys?
