I think the big problem for Fisher this year was the rediculous amount of turnovers that Fisher had. So many drives stopped by picks or fumbles just kept them out of games. It really is a sad story, since I honestly think Fisher had enough talent to be a 1 seed in the east this year. Bad turnovers, at the worse times, just made it impossible.
GO FISHER!!!

I do think Fisher picked the wrong offense, but they could have been just fine without the picks and fumbles. Fisher moved the ball against every team they played, and they just could not find a way to score touchdowns when they really needed them (see the end of the hartwick game, and both overtime games). The bottom line is that Fisher did enough this year to get into the tournament...they just needed to execute one more extra point, and they could not do it. If you can not execute an extra point with the season on the line, I don't think you really deserve to be the conference champ. I don't think this is the begining of the end for Fisher. In fact, I actually think they will have one of the better teams they have ever had in the next two years.

Congrats to IC. As much as it kills me to say it, they had a better team this year. Good luck in the tourny.
GO FISHER!!!

I see it as combination of  a few things.

They replaced a QB who was like a coach on the field.  The kid I saw the past few years had alot of savy.

They lost a fantastic coach in Blaise Faggiano and that type of loss hits home pretty quickly.

They lost a big time corner in Stepnik.  That affects alot of defense.

They play in a very tight league with other good teams.

Ten years ago the Fisher faithful would have jumped for joy for a 6-4 season and a thumping of Ithaca.  How quickly people forget.

It will not always be the NCAA's for any team in the E8 just too tough a league from top to bottom.

my two cents.

Maybe Syracuse and Fisher can switch offenses?

If I can think of one team in the country that would have benefited from getting a coach who knows how to run the spread it would have been Syracuse.

Now there is a place where the AD should be fired for having coaches ruin the program. (and notre dame)

i think that there really doesnt need to be a seperate heading for fisher bashing.
i hate to agree with some of the others but some of youi fisher guys need to step away from the ledge and get a little bit of perspective.

really- 6-4 isnt a great season but remember where this program was and where it will go.

I said yesterday that when I played, 1992-1995, I/We would  have given our arms to get an ECAC playoff birth. I hope, for the senior's sake, they get an ECAC playoff birth, but I am not so sure that will happen.   I think the dissapointment around this year's team by many people is truly a testament to the leaps that the program has taken and being almost 10 yards from a National Championship birth two years ago.   That says a lot.    My money is that they coast into the NCAA's next year.   They'll learn from this.

Enough is enough.  For all the criticism Union fans have been giving each other for so-called "Union Bashing" this year -- you guys, if you allow this thread to thrive, are going well beyond that scenario.  It's especially ugly when you consider that Union was 1-3 at one point, and Fisher is 6-4 with two losses to national powerhouse teams.  Expect and ask for more, yes.  Insult the players and coaches in an open forum to THIS degree, no.

I think some of the Fisher fans need to be fired..  ;)

Boltus is probably good enough to move up the ladder, but Team Boltus is seriously up to debate.

by the way... Boltus is getting serious looks from the NFL...

check this link out... its from the QB scout from the 49ers on the 49ers website.

http://49ers.com/pressbox/news_detail.php?PRKey=4851

He writes a ton about Boltus in his short article I couldnt believe it... here is a small quote

"Out of all the quarterbacks in my area, I have three guys, who I think have the chance to play quarterback in the NFL and Boltus is one of them. Granted, there are quarterbacks who I will be projecting at another position, but of the three guys, he's one of them."

That's some good stuff... nice find.

Never a fan of anything Fisher, but I find this thread appalling-they lost a lot of great guys to graduation and a fine coach in Faggiano-unrealistic to expect a stellar performance this year.
A thread like this is an insult to the program, D3 and especially the players who give their all just for love of the game.

Word for word. This thread is completely unnecessary, IMHO.

And it's actually a violation of the terms of service:

"4. No one team needs a conversation of its own. If there is already a conversation about that team's conference, I will remove the new conversation. If there is no conversation about that team's conference, I will rename the new conversation to make it more inclusive."
