Other Reflections on Fisher '08 Season:

I think an OK year by the starting Soph Tim Bailey. - He has the tools, needs a little bit more arm strength, but will be much better next season, and can develop into a great QB.

Freshman WR #85 - good player, has the chance to be great - if he works hard.

Several players have great talent, but put in very questionable effort during the games - such as not holding blocks, not hitting holes hard, not running routes as hard as you can to the whistle - #11 and #6 truly need to ask themselves why they're on the field - are you there to win and move the program forward or not?

Coaches - need a little bit more seasoning. Off. Coord. and the play calling never really appeared to have any flow, or set up one play to the next.  Def. Coord. - never appeared to know when to blitz, sat back in the 4th qtr letting teams back in it (and sometimes winning), rare were any noticeable half time adjustments.

Other asst. Coaches - need to be more cognst of their actions, behavior, and appearance. Simply put some maturity needed in this dept.

Very disappointing finish to the season, a winning season though, they'll be back next year and better.

Before I go on a tirad that will no doubt be critisized to the who cares about winning, let's just play and fun crowd -

I want to take a moment and give massive amounts of praise to #83 TIM MARION

The most important things that happen on a football field are often the toughest to measure from  a stats perspective.  I have watched this kid play these last few years and the guy is tough.  Not the fastest, yet finds a way to make others miss, and gain YAC.  He leaves all on the field, scrapping, fighting, trying to help the team win.

To me, nothing quite captured what this guy was all about until the 4th quarter of yesterdays game.  Catches the ball short of the first down marker, as he always found a way to do, got to the first down point, ended up fumbling, ball bouncing 5 to 7 yards in front of him, only to shake loose the 3 Alfred players draped all over him to hustle to recover the fumble and keep the drive going.

Great play, great player, great career.

ok tuff guy... we'll look out for your "tirad".  Who cares about winning?  Playing for fun crowd?  you're barking up the wrong tree... Beat it Nerd

Hartwick you made your bed by:

-Losing to Curry last year
-Scheduling 9 games
-Allowing 69 to IC
-Losing to a 3-6 team

You have no argument here after having 2 losses and only having 9 games played.

Yanks if you don't want to look at last year, then how can you say the NEFC isnt that strong?

Just the judment of the teams in the NEFC... I dont agree with that conference getting two teams in over the E8 pr the NJAC for that matter

BTW, you are CRAZY if you think Curry's monkeystomp of Hartwick in Round 1 last year didn't play into the decision to give Curry a Pool C last year. How else can you account for their admission over Rowan when Rowan was ranked ahead of Curry in last week's regional rankings and Rowan won this weekend while Curry didn't play a game.

Once again, thank you Hartwick for the gift that keeps on giving. I'm actually pleased we get to play Curry instead of Montclair or Rowan. The NJ teams could have posed some athleticism problems for Ithaca.

If the committee is using last years results for this years selections, then they should be reprimanded.  You are supposed to pick the teams based on this year.  I agree that Wick, RPI, Montclair, and Rowan should have made it over Curry...

They took a team that essentially finished third in its conference over several teams ranked ahead of them in the region...

Yanks, be realistic. Curry was the 2nd best team in their conference. Can't punishing them for having two uneven divisions. If an East team was getting a Pool C, here's how I would have had it ranked:

1) Montclair
2) Rowan
3) Curry
4a) Hartwick
4b) RPI

As Frank mentioned earlier, Hartwick shouldn't have been in the conversation. They lost to Springfield. Do you not realize how devastating that is? A two-loss Pool C team CANNOT LOSE TO A TEAM WITH 3 WINS!!!

Look, I am not disagreeing that we should have taken care of business against SC, and if we had, we wouldn't have a care in the world.  I just don't think the NEFC as a whole is very strong.  I would have no problems with RPI, Rowan, or Montclair getting the final nod.  But to move over a 6-4 Randolph Macon team from the South and get a second NEFC team as a Pool C...that is a big slap in the face to the E8, the NJAC, and the LL...

Yanks, the East teams don't deserve it. Fisher and RPI wet the bed yesterday. Hartwick did the same the week before. As Pat has often said, you have to EARN it, it will not be handed to you. I agree the NEFC is weak. But Curry is more qualified this year than Hartwick. They don't have the wart on their resume like Hartwick does with the loss to SC.

Let me ask you this: do you think if Hartwick defeated Curry last year that this would have happened? It's a yes or no question, no need to include the part about whether it should be considered or not.

P.S. I agree Rowan and Montclar should have made it over Curry. That is not the argument. The issue is Curry v. Hartwick. If that's the issue, I agree with Curry's admission.

I just think it is bad news for the East region.  Again, I realize Wick had a shot to earn it by beating SC.  I just think it is dangerous for the E8, the NJAC, and the LL to have two teams come from the NEFC as the three leagues mentioned above beat the hell out of each other for the entire year.  But if you were to tell me before the selctions came out that the E8, NJAC, LL, and MAC would only get four teams in while we moved two out of region teams to the bracket AND the NEFC would have two teams,  I would have told you that you were crazy.

And I can be honest...no...Curry wouldn't have gotten in if they hadn't beat Wick last year.  I still think it is a terrible arguement though.

Again, like it or not, Curry didn't even make its conference championship game, which gives them the arguement that they are one of the two best teams in the entire conference.  They had their shot against PS and didn't earn it either.

Oh how BoSox never seems to spit out such jibberish. Dude your team opened the door last year and gave the NEFC some validity towards the committee. ****ing WNEC and then losing to Curry? Come on, your team blew it and your unrealistic tone all year only hurts Wick and their players who no doubt bust there ass. Many things should be left unsaid for the respect of the players. Yet when you honk your Wick horn you make people call you out on your ****. Damn NEFC with two teams I never thought I'd see the day. Well I wish them luck I just hope they both get monkey stomped. I for one will be at the Ithaca game over the Bart game because I want to see Grassdorf go to work!

We have more of a leg to stand on then your ridiculous arguement over how a 7-3 Fisher team could get in.  We didn't make it...it happens.  I am still excited about having a chance to play one more game and a shot at a 16-5 record over the past two seasons.  We have a lot to build on...
