This will give the answer away. How many players need to be in the backfield to run a legal play?

Memo to Bombers # whatever; Thats why these boards are here, we agree to disagree
When somebody make a post and it is countered they get jumped on, then they do not defend there orginal post.

The numbers in Bombers Alias have a pretty significant historical meaning.

Let's correct all the mistakes in the post itself:

"That's why these boards are here; we agree to disagree.
When somebody makes a post and it is countered, they get jumped on, then they do not defend there their orginal original post.  "

if you're going to edit posts, PG, edit the whole thing :)

JU,
In my days as a Dragon, every away game was an overnight trip, one time 2 nights (Wash and Jeff).  I know we went to Jersey a lot as an independent, and also in our first year in the NJAC....which meant 5+ hour rides at best.  We also overnighted Brockport 1.5-2 hours I believe it was.  We were also going to overnight 2 Cortaca games but that was due to the insanity on and around the campus.  Those were the only road games where we did not stay over.

Yea we were a little different

Day trips:
-Aflred
-Hobart
-Cortland
-Mansfield
-Brockport

Overnight
-Springfield
-AIC
-St. Lawrence
-Buff St.
-W&J
-Mercyhurst

Wow, brought back some memories:

Day Trips:
Brockport
Hobart
UofR
Hartwick
Alfred
Buff St.

Overnight:
RPI
Catholic
Galludet
Salve Regina
Jersey City State
Western Connecticut
Gannon

82, did I miss anything?

you missed the Thiel Tomcats overnight excursion last game junior year when half the starting team sat the first two series because they missed weights that week.

And you missed St Francis, I think was Freshman year.

Centerville, Mass. -- The Bomber football team sits atop the final regular-season Lambert/Meadowlands Cup poll. The Lambert Cup has been awarded since 1972 to the top Division III team in Eastern football. Ithaca has won eight awards -- more than any other school (1974, 1975, 1978, 1980, 1984, 1985, 1988 and 1991). The final poll will be conducted in January.

1. ITHACA (9-1), 81 points
Wesley (8-1), 81
3. Cortland (9-1), 64
4. Muhlenberg (9-1), 61
5. Washington & Jefferson (9-1), 56
6. Trinity [Conn.] (8-0), 43
7. Salisbury (8-2), 40
8. Hobart (8-1), 29
9. Montclair State (8-2), 23
10. Rensselaer (7-2), 7

They haven't won more than Rowan.  Besides the more important stat is that Fisher has 1 Lambert Trophy, I'd love to see people trump that.  I think we came in 2nd last year as well, it's like we are an unstoppable rebel force.

Both teams have won 8. You have to love the accuracy of Ithaca's Sports Info Department

You'd be hard pressed to find a more professional SID office in upstate new york, division III, or the NCAA.  I think this comment is way out of line.

Agreed. I'm sure most SIDs around the league would say the same.

Pat Coleman

True. No school has won more Lambert Cup awards than Ithaca would be the way to say that if they didn't want to acknowledge the tie. But not a big deal.

Yeah, maybe not. But IC's athletic page also has a "Student Althete Profile" of a Women's Soccer player who graduated in 2006. This is not a new problem at Ithaca. If you're purporting to be the best source of information about a school, accuracy should be the #1 concern. Especially when a mistake like that can be corrected in 20 seconds by doing a Google Search

I don't think you want to open this up Bombers. I've liked everything you've said until now. I would venture to say that the breadth, fairness, and professionalism of Ithaca's SI department is unparalleled in NY, maybe even in DIII.

When your SID stays until midnight every Saturday football night to make sure the proper coverage gets paid to ALL sports, you let things like stupid little mistakes go once in a while. When EVERY sport has the scores up immediately after the event, which is almost unheard of, you let little mistakes go.

If you had bothered to e-mail Mike Warwick courteously about these things, I'm sure they would have been fixed immediately; instead you're trumpeting it on a message board. Nice work, here's a cookie. The two "mistakes" you have mentioned are nothing compared to the headache that comes with dealing with many or even most DIII Sports Info departments.

I mean, if you want to have a detailed discussion about this in private and spare everyone else, I'd be happy to oblige you.  But, since you put this out here on the boards I feel the need to put you in your place.

I am obviously biased, as is Max.  But I think no one but you, whomever you are, would criticize the work product that comes out of the IC Sports Information Department.

I am not just some guy saying that either.  I spent seven years working on the PR staff of a Major League Baseball team for a PR director with 30+ years in pro sports between the MLB and NFL who has received baseball's highest honor for pr men and is almost certainly headed to the Hall of Fame whenever he retires.

I can say that IC's in game products, publications, website, game stories, game notes, media relations policies (which are needed at IC given the communications program and all those undergrads that think they Red Barber) are all on par with anything produced in Major League Baseball.  For that matter, IC's work product is actually better than the garbage slapped together by several high profile MLB organizations.

On top of that, IC's SID is knowledgable in both the history and performance of all of IC's team without looking up information in any media guide.

I am not sure what axe you have to grind but you are way out of line and need to either apologize or get a life.

What's more, if you don't believe me, I'll defer to realistic who covered the Bombers and had to deal with the SID staff as well as Pat who is a former SID and gets to evaluate all the SIDs nationwide.

realistic

While I am a little biased as well (I had a great working relationship with Mike (andQ) in college), I have to agree.  Bombers, that was out of line.

He goes well beyond what most schools do and I found him to be one of the most accomdating SID's that I worked with.  I have a lot to base this on as well (Bombers, do you have comparisons?) as I worked as an on-air sportscaster right out of school.  I will also give a shout out to Michael Hemmesch at Saint Johns here as well.

Bombers - also, the Women's Soccer player you refer to was not an Athletic Dept or SID project.  That was part of an article in the ICQ, and I assume is just up because it highlighted the "Student Athlete" at Ithaca.

I've worked in Sports info offices for a few years myself. I also worked with Mike personally. He's a great guy, and he works hard. I did not mean to call him out personally. I PM'ed you, Max and Jose
