Let's also keep in mind that the Gagliardi trophy doesn't necessarily go to the best football player either (if it did, Nate Kmic would be the hands down winner, and he's not even nominated).

Although I do think MUC's QB has had more success and has shown over the years that he can lead his team to some big victories.

Why isnt Kmic nominated?

Pat have you seen Boltus play?

No. Have you seen Micheli?

Schools can only nominate one player apiece. If you read the qualifications, which include athletics, academics and community service, I can see why Micheli's resume would tailor him for this award.

I havent... but I'm pulling for Boltus because I went to Hartwick ... whats your reasoning?  i was hoping you have seen both so you could explain to me why you thought Micheli was better...

For some reason Boltus always seems to get the shaft on a national level....how was he not an all-american last year or a pre-season all american this year??? hello??  Everyone is drinking the Mount Union kool aid.....

And as far as him loosing the Springfield game single handedly....that person must not have been at the game.  1 pick at the end of the game in a desperate situation does not constitute losing a game....he single handedly kept them in games for the past few years!!

It was a horrible write up for him and it will be a shame if he does not win this award.

You guys really need to get a clue. .

When you have guys like Micheli or Kimic who - rack up stats against real opponents, who win all the time, have won their conference, made it to the SB, and looking like on their way to another, you just can't put a player who couldn't lead his team to similar heights at the same level. . .

Maybe you and Boltus can watch the game together . . .

In the entire world no, but certainly my bitterness ranking climbed a bit after a blocked PAT, a 6-4 reg. season record, and the E8 champ getting slapped out in Round 1 by Curry . .

I'm seeing a doc about the condition. . . thanks for the concern. .

First off, I will say this has been my first year watching Hartwick football. Although I have not seen Micheli play live,  I have seen him on TV a few times.

Seeing Boltus on film last year and now live, he is the best D3 QB I have ever seen. I started watching D3 football in the late 70's, mostly Ithaca, Cortland and some other upstate NY teams.  I can say, he is physically the best QB I have seen at this level. The numbers are off the chart, 4.7 40, 415 bench, 500 squat.  His arm strength is unbelievable. He can throw on the run, he can throw the deep out that the pros love.  He seems to look off receivers well.

Beyond the physical stuff, he is a pre-med major and from what I hear, just a great kid. He could have complained about the defense all year long. He was the consummate team player even though he is much more gifted then anyone on the team.

I think one question may answer the question on who the best QB is.  If Micheli was at Hartwick, would they have won as many game as they have the last two years with Boltus as the QB?

Yes,

In Wick's system any good QB can be effective and score points...

Micheli is a great QB so I'd be inclined to say that they could have even won a few more games...

You are crazy....I find it hard to believe that Michelli is better than Boltus.  how do you explain why Boltus will be drafted and Michelli wont?  Boltus did this playing with inferior talent keep that in mind.  Imagine Boltus behind a line of 300lbers and a pro caliber reciever like Garcon last year.

Michelli is a great leader and a great qb, however, he does not possess the arm strength or speed that Boltus does.  I would take boltus anyday and twice on Saturday.

Jonny Utah

Yea its a tough argument either way.

I think one of the reason Boltus is getting looks and Micheli isn't (I am assuming he isn't) is because of Boltus' size.  Boltus has the NFL QB body and will get a look because of that.  And do we know that he will be drafted?  Last I heard he was the 27th ranked QB out there (or somewhere around there?)

Could Micheli do the same thing Boltus does in that offense?  Who knows?  I would say he probably could.  I mean, he does have the best rating in the country.  That does mean something.  Then again, when you run Hartwicks offense, you are going to have a better chance of throwing incompletions which will lower your rating.  MUC does run some spread though and Micheli runs that next to perfect.
