Boltus is a great QB... but for any D3 QB to make it to the NFL or even get drafted is a terrible long-shot... Regarding D3 i think any other position has a better chance to make the jump to the NFL because the learning curve is much straighter then that of a QB... If Boltus is the player that some of you make him out to be or the player that some draft boards make him out to be, then how do you lose to Curry convincinly in the Playoffs? Don't get me wrong, I am rooting for him but i just don't see him getting drafted like some of you posters believe

I dont think you realize how bad Hartwick's defense is...that is how they lost to Curry.  Also they were manhandled up front by a much larger line which put a ridiculous amount of pressure on Boltus in that game.

I guess we will all see in a few months.  I hope he makes it.  From what I hear the only knock on him is that he played in D3.  he has the size and speed and his strenght numbers are off the charts.  I am pulling for him and I think he will be on an NFL roster next year.

I would think there would be more national exposure by now if he were going to be a 3rd or 4th rounder.

From an exposure standpoint - scouting services have him listed in the top 10 for the draft, not sure how much more you think is possible for a player at D3 that doesn't make it to the NCAAs

Which ones?

The two that I use come draft time dont even have him listed in the top 30...

Not overall, but top 10 at his position - Will get the name in a moment

I dunno.  I always look at those things and never see Boltus' name in the top 20.  I did see the link where he was ranked 27 or somthing at some point in the season.

playing against d3 competition will definitely go against him.  What also might go against him (and others like Tebow) is the fact that he isnt in a dropback system like NFL players usually play in.

Can he throw that 20 yard out with force and precision?  That is always on of the baromaters of NLF qbs

Man,

I really hope Hobart can put together a game and go toe to toe with MUC this weekend.

they have been a consistently good program, it is time for them to be a great program.

Im talking top 30 QBs also...

Drew Willy, from UB, is a better QB than Boltus and probably wont be drafted...

Speaking of UB glad they're headed to a bowl game. .

Its nice the Buffalo area has a winning football team for once...

I think Turner Gill is going to be getting a big time gig soon...

Gross might give up some big $$$ for him to go to Syracuse...

I'm pretty sure Boltus was a big part of that Curry loss just like the defense.  Didn't he throw 5 interceptions against them?  That's 5 interceptions against an above average but not great division 3 football team.  If you think that Curry pressuring him and forcing him into questionable decisions was bad, wait until Justin Tuck or Jerry Porter comes rumbling at him.

I agree with Upstate's point on this.  Think of all the excellent DI QB's that don't get drafted (for example, I have a hard time believing that Boltus, though excellent at this level, is better than Brad Smith, who had good arm strength and yet wasn't drafted).  That's not even talking about DIAA or DII.

Would it be incredible if he got drafted?  Of course, but the talk like its a done deal is more wishful thinking than a true understanding of that level of play.

That being said there's been a few to get niffs from the NFL including Alex Bell at Bart and the OL from Brockport a few years ago.  Who else do people remember getting attention or some modicum of run at that level?

TE from SJF I believe was signed by KC back in '04 (I think) for a brief while.

SJF Fan: Can you send me a link to the scouting service that you're talking about? Thanks.
