Well, I'm going to suck it up and make the trip to Worcester this weekend for the Union game.  This game brings back some bad memories of a couple of 0-44 losses way back in my day.  I'm hoping for something a bit more competitive tomorrow.  Anybody predicting an upset here?

nope!!  WPI has been known to cause union some trouble, but after a close 1st half the U takes the otherneers behind the woodshed for the final 30min.

The 118 points I scored last week should be your biggest concern.

partial RPI @ St. Lawrence Preview

RPI VS. ST. LAWRENCE ALL-TIME: Rensselaer is 21-28-2 all-time against the
Saints.  RPI has won 13 of the last 14 meetings, including six of the last
seven in Canton.

SERIES RECORDS WITH THE SAINTS: The Engineers' 51 all-time meetings with St.
Lawrence ranks fifth in games against one opponent ... RPI's 21 wins is also
fifth, as are its 28 losses.

KING VS. ST. LAWRENCE ALL-TIME: RPI head coach Joe King, who is in his 18th
season at the helm, is 14-3 all-time against St. Lawrence.

NATIONAL TOP 25: Rensselaer ranks in the top 25 in several national
statistical categories.  The Engineers are 18th in total defense (203.3
yards allowed per game), 21st in rushing defense (60.3 yards allowed per
game), and 23rd in team kickoff returns (24.7 yards per return) ...
Individually, two student-athletes are in the top 25 statistically.  Senior
running back Jay Bernardo is seventh in scoring (12.0 points per game) while
classmate Adam LoGiudice is 14th in kickoff returns (29.9 yards per return).

STATE LEADERS: Rensselaer is first among all 17 teams in New York State in
rushing defense (60.3 yards allowed per game), third down conversions
(35-for-61; 57.4%), field goals (3-for-3; 1.000) and PAT kicking (17-for-17;
1.000) ... Senior kicker Drew Taranto is first in field goal percentage at
1.000 (3-for-3) and PAT kicking at 1.000 (14-for-14).

LEAGUE LEADERS: Among the categories Rensselaer leads the Liberty League are
scoring offense (33.5 points per game), scoring defense (11.8 points allowed
per game), pass defense (143.0 yards allowed per game), total defense (203.2
yards allowed per game), and fourth down conversions (71.4%) ... Junior wide
receiver Brendan McGowan is first in receptions per game (5.50), senior
defensive back Brett Perron is first in interceptions (0.75 per game), and
senior Adam LoGiudice is first in kick return average (29.9 yards).

Should be an interesting match up between the RPI secondary and the SLU receivers.  SLU is 2nd in passing offense, and RPI is 1st in pass defense.  RPI has been running the ball very well and chewing up the clock from what it seems, and SLU can't move the ball at all on the ground, so SLU will probably try to air it out to their go to guys, Mike O'Donnell (WR) and Brett Young (TE).  This is the first test for the Larries against the top tier of the LL this year, should be interesting to see if they can hang with the big dogs.
