'Gro, I'm sure you remember me and my cramping issues.  I really can't say anything about anyone who cramps up, because it's happened to me severely since HS.  LD11 had a near death experience following a game his senior year due to extreme dehydration.  During the game I was cramping something fierce in my calfs, hamstrings, and quads, as well as my forearms.  When I got back to 28 Colvin after the game, every muscle in my body pretty much was cramping up simultaneously, uncluding abs, my jaw, my back, everything.  It resulted in an emergency rush to the hospital in an ambulance where I was pumped with IV's for hours and almost had kidney failure.  A big shout out to Ort, the trainer for RPI, for giving pickle juice to people with cramping issues the night before the game AND right before the game...That made sense...

A couple years ago I ran the Boilermaker in Utica, which is a 15K road race.  after about 7.5 miles in 93 degree heat I started cramping a bit.  I finished the race without dying, then as I was chilling after the race I couldn't move.  Everytime I went to move I cramped up, then I started to overheat and some lesbians came and rescued me.  They brought me some water, ice and the first aid unit, who then wheeled me to the tent for an IV.  It wasn't that I was dying, I just couldn't move.  It was pretty embarrassing.  I've since learned to head right to the first aid tent.  Some people just dehydrate easier than others.

I remember a scene on Dawson's Creek where Mitch Leary, Dawson's Dad was the football coach.  He gave a water break and I remember the quote all too well, 'Don't drink too  much water.  You'll cramp up.'  What is this, 3rd grade recess where kids get stomach cramps from having too much Kool Aid?

Speaking of the UFC....any thoughts on Ortiz vs. Liddell??  U89 feels that Ortiz has a very good shot at winning this time....Ortiz' ground game is silly...if he can somehow avoid Chuck's haymakers and take him down, U89 sees a very long night for the Iceman.

U89's book was actually taking action on Ortiz/Shamrock.

U89 still hates Ed Herman/Harding....he is red headed and his mom is remarried......that's the way he got beat down....

U89,

Now Reg is not typically a betting man per se, however if Liddell EVER dared to step into the ring with Tito, then tito has my money.  There is no way that old man is going to stay on his feet long enough to take on tito....I mean I jsut watched it again vs Shamrock and it when he picked Ken up, it looked like he was carrying around a 50lb sack of potatoes.

Then you take into account the ground attack, where the guy looks more comfortable throwin bows than LUDACRIS!!!!  Unless Tito sneezes or a bee flys up into the ring and stings him in the pupil momentarily paralizing him, old man Liddell would not beat him

Just an FYI, it just so happens that Holladawg was either talking about or headed to see Liddell fight the night before he disappeared....coincidence?

Another thing one of ZT's coaches did was introduce us to his pushups...He would tell us we were going to do three pushups and we'd all laugh....Little did we know it would take 15 minutes to do them as we had to move only inches at a time.  That kind of stuff actually does make you tougher ZT guesses....IF they just gave us WATER!!!!

IF LLPP ever does get our allstar team on the field for some flag football we're going to turn the game into an "old school game"...We're going to be PHYSICAL.

We're not just going to grab the opponent's flag...We're going to rip it out with authority!  We're going to take that flag and shove it right up they're scarred little...........Then we're going to deny them fluids by dumping out all their gaterade.
And we'll tell them they should eat salt tablets like our old school coaches used to do....

And IF they ever win...Well, God only help them!!!  Cuz we just don't know for sure what the members of a LLPP team are actually capable of in that situation....

My question is, why are all those cats on Two a days always cramping up?  I have NEVER cramped up in all my years of playing football....especially not during practice!

There are two critical factors which can result in muscle cramps due to dehydration:

1)  muscles
2)  vigorous activity

Don't know if that helps answer the question posed above.

;D

'gro has never been sidelined with cramps either, and gro is the most inflexible cat ever to step on the gridion (therefore I should cramp more often right?).

AJ cramped up several times during the Rowan game.  To jacked up to eat much, AJ thinks that was the problem for him.  Before that though AJ never had a problem.

The best intelligent advice that AJ got was from a Rowan player.  "Yo you should eat so more bananas..."
On the run from johny law...aint no trip to clevland

U89, does this guy look familiar?

Knightstalker

KS thinks he bought a used car from that guy once.

ZT, those sound like boot camp pushups, our Company Commanders CC favorite was assuming the pushup position and then making everyone hold it for 15 or 20 minutes.  It did toughen you up, after you got the feeling back in your arms.

To solve the cramping issue, jus slug down a 12oz bottle of V8!  Squeeze those nostrils and bottoms up.  One of those little 12 oz bottles provides more sodium and electrolytes than 128 oz of Gatorade.

Whats up with Temple football?  Down 49-3 at the half?  Im thinking Ithaca could seriously give them a game.

Gro, they need your sagely advice on the NJAC board.  They are horrible at bantoring

RE:  ORtiz vs. Liddell

Reg, you are crazy dude.  Liddell absolutely beat Tito to a pulp last time they fought.  Now don't get me wrong, i'm a huge Tito Ortiz fan, but Chuck Liddell is the baddest dude iu've ever seen.  Everytime Chuck fights, people think he is gonna lose.  They say he was out partying too much, they say he is getting old.  They said Babalu was gonna submit him, and he would take Chuck down.  Chuck doesn't go down.

I think it might be a good war, and I like them both, and I would really like to see Tito complete his comeback, but until Chuck retires, I don't think he'll be beat.  'if he can somehow avoid Chuck's haymakers'.  No one avoids Chuck's haymakers.  Randy Couture was the best takedown man in UFC history.  He took Chuck down once.  He squeaked out a victory(which was debatable) the first time, then got manhandled in the other 2 fights.

I just don't see it happening for Tito.  I am excited though because I think the 2 of them are BY FAR, the 2 best in game.  And you bet your azz I'll be buying that PPV.

bomber27

Chuck has the heaviest hands in UFC but the way Tito smoked shamrock was impressive

Talk about a good recruiting pitch for the Army.

Didn't want to say this to Reg myself......you 2 are boys....you can get away with it....

BTW...U89 was on BC (+2) and Colorado St. (+6.5) tonight.

PS...LD, Matt Hughes is more dominant in the Middleweight Division and pound for pound, as good if not better....than Laddell, thoughts??  Hughes vs. Franklin would be awesome, but they will never fight because they're like LD & 'Gro or LD & Reg.
