I may have to remove that picture from LLPP.....it makes me so mad even looking at her, I want to punch my LCD off my desk.

one last point on cheerleading....is it a sport or not? need llpp input because in nj that just made it a sport and now girls can opt out of gym class....

in the case of girls opting out of gym class, then yes it's a sport. No need to get all hot and stank during 2nd mod (we didn't have periods, they were called mods, don't ask) gym class when you are going to be doing physical activity after school.

EDIT
Gro also believes that school shouldn't even offer gym class past 8th grade. PE is important for younger students to learn coordination, wellness, blah blah blah... but after a while most kids are either playing organized sports or have given up on them. And like Gro said above seriously who wants to be dripping in ball schweat at 10am and have 5 more hours of class??  Sorry Cortland grads... your jobs are in jeopardy

'gro is no lawyer, twin brother lawyer'gro handles that... but gro's short definition of a sport is a PHYSICAL activity with a clearly determined winner.  Therefore, anything decided by judges... not a sport (puts boxing in a grey area doesn't it?).

anyone who responds "well what about instant replay in football?"  shut the hell up. Refs, Umps, call the plays on the field and while some calls may "decide" the outcome of the game... it is the points that really matter.

WESTFIELD, N.J., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- High school cheerleading is now considered a sport like football in a New Jersey school district, so cheerleaders may now opt out of gym class.
"We're not ditzy little girls," 15-year-old Westfield High School cheerleader
Brandi Alvarez tells The (Newark) Star-Ledger.
The Westfield board of education recently approved the cheerleaders' petition for their activities to be considered a sport, freeing them from having to play dodgeball in gym.
The next step is statewide recognition, the Westfield cheerleaders say.
That is because the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association, the
governing body for high school sports, does not consider cheerleading a varsity sport.
Unlike "the cheerleaders of yesteryear," modern-day cheerleaders "are
competitive, well-trained individuals," said Patty Ann Romero, founder and
director of the Central Jersey All-Stars, a competitive cheerleading academy in Cranford.

Was Reg the only one to immmediately think about the effects of this on Cortland Grads?

Stlarry is not sure of the exact year that SLU last beat Bart, but SLU has not had a winning season since 1991, so it was probably not since that point.  TGP is right, though, the gap has seemed to close in the recent past, and this year has been so tight across the board, anything could happen.

The fact that it is a home game gives Stlarry some hope; as anyone who has come up to the north country knows, the weather becomes a huge factor, and the Larries practice in the crappy weather that frequents Canton (although 51 and rainy is downright pleasant compared to some games Stlarry had to suffer through).  The weather could have a negative impact on the Larries, however, based on the fact that SLU has a non-existant running game, and will likely have to take to the air.  Either way, it looks like it will probably be another thight game in the LL this year.  Look for SLU to throw in some wrinkles coming off a bye week.

StLarry -

thanks for the input (and the link!)

Thanks to Garnet and Stlarry ZA has more sites added to his "favorites"...Very helpful in these lonely times.....

ZA also notices the football chatter has increased recently...

ZA doesn't know how to smite or when he is allowed, but frankly, finds the word "smite" kind of, .......well......"girlish"....oohh, you've been smited....

There has to be a better word to use than "smite"....

Now...to more football.....ZA's prediction is that there will be no ties this weekend.
Sorry, that's the best ZA can offer....LL getting too difficult to predict anymore!!!

ummm  what about D1 cheerleaders?

Are they fair game???

http://www.athlonsports.com/college-football/8054/sideline-spirit?action=display_round&round=1

Vanessa Marrero is smokin' hot, but looks like she may need a visit to Dr.90210 to be a legit contender......does being a Florida International co-ed mean she has to participate in the community service thingy involving the U of Miami dibacle??  If so, U89 has an open invite for her to clean his crib in a lil' strapless number.

It's funny you mention Vanessa, U89.  Reg was thinking the SAME EXACT thing once he looked at her last picture!....Wierd.
ANywhoo.....you give me a list of colleges that let their cheerleaders run around in a one piece "booty shorts" outfit like that and I am ripping my diploma up and applying as a freshman.  I figure it's that or keep grinding it out, since I am no longer eligible for Real world or Road Rules....

PS- speaking of too old for RW RR.....I like Tina last week, would also like a chance to punch Beth in the face....In fact, I would pay to do it.

Is Beth still around?  Wasn't RW LA like 40 years ago, when JT was still eligible for RW.  Can somebody put a cap in her azz already?  Her 15 minutes expired in like 1993 or 1994.  JT would rather see Puck in RW RR.  Blow a couple of snot rockets on the competition = victory.

Rev-
Please tell reg the part about the prof scorning you for holding open the door ins't true.....
I don't see HOW something so foolish could spew from that idiots mouth,,,I mean it is common courtesey!  Reg holds doors opens door for everyone and expects the same in return.

Reg,

The Rev swears this is 100% true.  The Prof was angry because chivalry is a way for males to dominate women, and so on.  The Rev often daydreams about what it would have been like to go to a school with reasonable profs.  But hey, Hobart still has Marxism as the primary push in its economics department, so what do we expect?  Certainly no common courtesy.

This is why The Rev is not going to the big banquet on Saturday after the big Union game.  The Rev is likely to put that one drink too many into his holy gullet and start to speak his mind.  Thus guaranteeing that The Rev will never get to return to HWS as a prof or dean--which is The Rev's long-term goal.  The Rev is already on thin ice, but since he brought 12 cases of Saranac beer with custom made "Bishop's brew" Hobart Reunion labels, there are several Rev fans in the alumni office depsite The Rev's misbehavior.

(by the way, I want to put the image of the label here, but I was a humanities major, not computer science.  How does a Mac user drop a picture here?)

Having said all this, and many of the other stories told here, I hope that you fellas all realize how against the grain being on the football team could be.  We weren't too good back then; just beginning to make the turn around with Coach Maxwell.  Now that the team is consistently good, I wonder how they are treated.

Boy! They cropped that first photo just a little too high, didn't they?  Mercy!

The Rev would give a +K to the fit birds in photos 1 and 3.
#5 might have been OK except the braces and piercing overdose turns the rev off.

RE: #1

Missed a great pic by this much:

If #4 is a group self breast exam, KR humbly offers his ...uh... services for the supervising of this event and fully encourages all cheerleading squads to undertake similar group check-ups.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

The Rev is deeply moved by your dedication to the Medical Sciences, especially that of Women's health.

The Rev would like to join you and offer the young lady a second opinion.
