Thx Mike -

Answered TGP's earlier question too - when was the last time the Larries beat the Statesmen?

Survey said - 1991

Frank -

Thx for the rundown.  Hobart can't ask more than to control it's own destiny.

Good luck this weekend to all the LL teams!

Whatever the result, the AU - Hobart gaame will be a serious indicator of things to come.

Do any of y'all watch Entourage?  miyh just got HBO and has seen the first four episodes on demand and likes what he's seen but isn't sure whether to jump in to the current season and see if he can follow along or just go pick up the dvds to catch up.  Any suggestions?

I would suggest getting the DVDs.  It's a great show in my opinion.  However, I think you could follow along, though the last season's ending was sort of a "cliffhanger"

Next week's game is shaping up to have more significance than earlier in the year. It will be a test of both teams, with key games the following week. I am preparing for extra bandwidth bills next week!

One thing that could happen, and it will shake out later, we are starting to call it the sports version of "A Perfect Storm" is that on November 4th, in Geneva, the following scenario could take place:

Hobart Football vs Union...Huge game at Boswell
Liberty League Championship Game for Men's Soccer
Liberty League Championship Game for Women's Soccer
Liberty League Championship Game  for Field Hockey
Hobart Hockey vs Manhattnville

Whew....
And, and on campus kick off of the Colleges' Capital Campaign! Parking will be at a premium! All the best to the Statesmen and Herons today!

I do not remember if I posted this before, but you can get Hobart and William Smith scores texted to your phone. We put in a service that will do this, and allow you to select the sports to which you want scores. The service is free, but standard text messaging rates for your phone plan apply. To check it out,

I know this is a football board and I'm an MIAC guy butting in, but congrats to RPI on their nice win over Denver last night. I caught the last period. Alford looked strong in goal, and the Denver announcers (saw it on FSN out of Denver)  said it was his first start, but probably not his last. Looks like they will be someone to contend with all year. There was a player whose last name is Kipp. I played with a group of oldtimers when I lived in the DC area, and one of them was Bob Kipp. Could the present Engineer be his son?

Word to the wise...

'The Departed' is one of the best movies ever created.  I would highly recommend seeing it ASAP.  Amazing flick.

Quick rant...

Brand new movie theater.  Stadium seating.  Huge seats.  Plenty of room between rows.  Was there ANY reason why the 5'7" man, and his 5'5" girlfriend kicked our seats ever 2-3 minutes the whole movie?  I turned and said 'Are you f'ing kidding me!!!' about 15 times.  The entire theater knew what I was saying by the end.  The just didn't stop and then bolted out of the theater immediately after, as I was preparing for a throw down.  Some people are just unbelievable.

International Beer Festival today.  On my way out.  Should be saucy in t-minus 60 minutes...$20...All you can drink...

RPI 21
MMA 7

Kickoff and INT return TD for LoGuidice (sp).  MMA scored on a looong pass play (seems to be RPI's weakness).

Frank Rossi

Yep - RPI's offense can rest with special teams and defense scoring a TD each so far.  MMA's offense is somewhat anemic, but they can definitely come back.  RPI needs to be careful of a two-for-one possibility at the end of the first half/beginning of second half.
