it's halloween, any angry pirates in the office?

Gro is dressed like the ghost of Chester Taylor... since only a dead man could play worse than he (and the whole vikings) played last night. Good statement game by the pats.

So has LLPP officially become the football sportsbook and fantasy tracker board?

Gagliardi Trophy is not just based on performance on the field, it also involves academics and community service. Just throwing that out there as a reminder.

Pat,

While you are correct about the guidelines for the Gagliardi Award, I seem to remember that last year you made a strong pitch on this site that a player's football ability should be the predominant criteria for the award.  That argument tended to support the candidacy of Linfield's Brett Elliott.

Not that Tom Arcidiacono does not also have excellent academic achievement and community service as part of his resume.  He is a fine young man and is a very deserving candidate whether or not he ultimately earns the Gagliardi Award.

Actually Reg didn't even watch the game.....I wouldn't consider $5 on the line "sweating".

I only placed this one bet bc I missed the early games.

JT's just hoping he can get out of NYC before the freakshow er um Holloween parade starts.  The freaks er um participants line up outside JT's office before they head up 6th Avenue at about 6pm.  Backs up traffic out if you don't leave early enough.  Over the past few years, JT has seen:

Mommy Dearest -  Two "dudes". One dressed as Joan Crawford and one dressed as the Christina the adopted daughter.  They were running lines from the movie and "Joan" was hitting "Christina" with a wire hanger.

Dorothy and Toto - Again two "dudes".  Dorothy was practicing the heel click and saying, "There's no place like home."

Various other acts of perversion in public that would generally get someone arrested.

Got an all day client meeting uptown, JT's hoping to be able to bail by 4pm and get out of Dodge before 5pm.  Wish JT luck.

From my understanding, Tom and the entire Union team are highly involved in the community in terms of service to local youth and in other ways.  So, I'm pretty sure there's not going to be anything lacking on that end of Tom's nomination.

Pat, aside from Chris Sharpe, who else is legitimately on the "Gagliardi Watch" -- especially since Justin Beaver got injured a few weeks back?

How can union kids do community service when they NEVER leave campus??

Wow, ZA way behind on posts...With the LLPP, you miss a day, you miss many posts...On older wrestling:  ZA saw Ivan Putski wrestle, knowing he was one hell of an olympic and power lifter and he was beyond strong. Also witnessed Ken Patera doing behind the neck presses with 315 pounds for reps when ZA trained in a gym where the manager had a lot of wrestlers coming in all the time.  Big John Stud was a regular visitor too.

On pro football: ZA stated last week that there were worse QB's than Tony Romo to take a chance on.  ZA is not a Dallas fan, but Romo showed he's worth taking a chance on.  Gibbs has to do the same with Cambell and have Brunell stay on the sidelines and help coach.

Hobart and Union game:  Union 34, Hobart 27! So much depends on the weather now...Scores could be much higher or lower if there is rain and mud....Hopefully, just cold, but no rain and mud...

Arcidiacono and the Gagliardi Trophy:  All ZA can say is you have to see him game after game to understand how intense he is on every play. ZA has never seen him take a second off on any play.  Some runs ZA has seen, have been in the "unbelievable" category and are "just" those 10 and 20 yard runs in between his long touchdown runs.  Although he's obviously strong and fast, he doesn't initially appear to be the kind of runner who can put a 275 pound lineman on his back, but ZA has seen him do it over and over again....

But there are many great runners in all divisions of college football.  Bernardo of RPI doesn't look like he'll put you on your back either, but he is quick, agile, and very strong...Still ranked in the top 20 in rushing.  BTW, ZA knows stats don't mean everything, but RPI is ranked high in many of the NCAA DIII categories.  They certainly have held it together since their early setbacks....

Well, that's long winded enough....On with Union/Hobart!!!

PBR...

JT pbr heard on the radio that plastic sting rays are sold out everywhere this year since the steve irwin death is the rage this year for costumes....who is pbr to judge whats right and wrong but its only been 2 months since his death seems a little early to be doing that for a costume and insensitive but again pbr tried to not judge people

Gro,
Rumor has it that they reach out to the community via telecons and video conferencing.

Rumor also has it that some RPI electrical engineers are working on a life sized robot replica of Arcidiacono, however, said robot fails immediately upon contact with cocoa butter. (remember that?!?!?)

Hardy har.  They have outreach programs to local school kids and the such.  Let's not turn this into a Union/RPI hockey game..."SAFE-TY School..." vs.  "You're STILL from TROY."

Reg -- haha cocoa butter. Sign me up.

Frank -- I keed I keed. The "secluded union kid" stereotype is about as useful as the "all RPI kids are dorks" one. Fact of the matter is only 65% of RPI students are dorks, with the remaining 35% comprised of geeks, dweebs, losers, and freaks.

I do remember some union students working as tutors at Skin-neck-titty HS back in the day... but I don't think you'll see them volunteering at the boys and girls club on craig street anytime soon.

Plastic sting rays? ZA has a relative that is beyond scared of spiders.  Truly, heart attack material...REAL aracnaphobia!  So, in ZA's kind hearted manner, he found a real furry spider at a K'mart no less.  This thing looked real as hell and has a hook on it to hang it on something. Then, it has a motion/noise sensor and when activated, the spider's eyes light up and the thing drops down about two feet on a string and then retracts back up the string.  So ZA snuck up to his house last night and hung it near his front door on a porch light.  Tested it a few times. When ZA approached the door, the spider freakin looks like its jumping right at you and even though ZA knew it was there, it was actually pretty creepy...Can't wait to find out if his heart holds up....And the porch light actually hides the thing as it casts a shadow where ZA put the spider.  ZA will not accept any liability for injury or heart attack....ZA will use Frank Rossi as his attorney.
