Why is U89 doing this to RT? RT said he was a believer in SJF now....but holy cow, this is a lock with this line. RT will make his way to the casino on Fri night in Niagara Falls for the sports book to lay $100 on Rowan grabbing 8 against a scrappy, but overmatched, SJF team. RT may even tease this up to 14pts in 2 team action w/ St.John's....

Who to cheer for? Fisher, due to their location relative to Geneva, or Rowan, the team that beat Hobart closely? I am not really a fan of "well, our lost to a team that was runner-up to the national champion" nor we should support the remaining New York State team. So, how chooseth, when the two remaining East teams are non LL?

This is The Rev's dilemma.

Rev actually would be more inclined to root for SJF because of the Western NY connection.

Nonetheless, having seen Rowan in action, The Rev thinks Rowan will win.  The Rev is not claiming Rowan will have an easy win.

In fact, The Rev hopes it turns into a knock-down, drag-out, bar-room brawl, no-holds-barred cage death match like Little Big Horn with no one surviving but the damn horse, Comanche.

I am a little discouraged that Fisher is being nit picked time & time again when all they've done so far this post season is go out and prove everyone completely wrong.

Tags, ask RPI fans about the scrutiny they encountered in 2002 when they went to the Final Four.  It comes with the territory. 

Or just ask a Hobart fan everytime Hobart breaks into the D3 Top 25 or makes it to the playoffs.  All we hear from some (not all) circles is how the Statesmen are over-rated and don't deserve to be ranked or get a bid for the playoffs.

Nowadays here on LL, fans of the three schools most represented here (Union, RPI, and Hobart) give each others' schools the props they deserve.  Sure, before the Shooz, U and RPI guys claimed each others' schools sucked, but that's good-natured ball-busting.

I think what happened is when you guys came on to the LL board last week or the week before, it appeared that you were gloating.  Gloating isn't taken well, even if you didn't mean it that way.

Generally, speaking, I think most LLPP members would prefer to see E8 beat NJAC, or are neutral.

One thing that we LL fans and schools are fighting is the stigma that LL is an easy league.  The Rev would like to see more E8/LL/NJAC inter-league play to prove that our alma maters are just as good and that our league is just as competative as yours.

Tags understands the ball busting - It's not a big deal. If you don't have thick skin on a posting board then there's something wrong.

Tags doesn't think we're all gloating, it's just a place to talk and jaw back and forth. Some people get too serious & carried away with everything... pretty sensitive.

Unless of course a 1 million yen bet at 10:1 is worth less than a Euro bet at 10:1.

To reward you for your timely playoff run, the Guru has decided to send who other than RT to be your color commentator for the d3football.com webcast this Sat. RT would like to think it was a sly political move by Pat to generate more subplots and intrigue for the broadcast...alas, it's more logistics. RT will be visting the parents on Sat, hitting the casinos in NF on Sat nite, then doing the Bills game on Sat!!!

If RT mentions RPI's "Cherry and White" ECAC win over Fisher's "Maroon and Gold" in 2005, RT should also add that the maroon and gold was black and blue from the brutality imposed by Alfred's Purple and Gold a week earlier.

But AUPepBand and AUKaz00 plan to be at Growney (hoping to be seated with a former Saxon of the undefeated kind) to support the Cardinals' efforts to carry the Empire 8 banner to Salem. Will RT's color be available on local radio? Would be fun to be at the game and listen to RT's commentary as well.
