Not ONLY is this a baseball conversation, but it is also occurring on the LL Board with ALL E8 posters! Lovely!

It's just conversation.

superman57

but Zito is on the down slope of his career and does not have good numbers while matuzaka is 26 and INSANELY good

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

well you see, the sox have all the leverage with that 51 million offer. the most i think matsuzaka will get per year is 10m, not bad for a frontline future ace of the staff. he doesn't want to go back to japan so if the yearly money isn't enough for him, the sox can ask seibu for money to help cover the yearly deal, thus reducing that 51 million. i do agree that its a lot of money to bid just to negotiate with a guy but it could be worth it in the long run. if this guy is winning 20 games in a year or 2 and the sox are in the pennant chase, that 51 million will be water under the bridge. and who cares about jd drew hitting 280? yea he's better than trot but he's still making 15 mill a year, almost the same or more than ortiz.  last, who cares about henry's firm? he's the principal owner of one of the most financially successful teams in mlb.

Truth, you're preaching to the choir. Tags is a huge Sox fan so nobody hopes you're right more than I do. Tags thinks you are thinking too much of this guy however.

The sox lost $18 Million in 2005. A lot of revenue doesn't mean it's financially successful.

Edit: Sorry for the Profit / Loss follow-up. It's what I do for a living ...

superman57

no lets get this right the SOX lost 18 mill the Red SOX made a whole lot of money with NESN and everything else that goes into the owners pockets that doesn't get laid out in the budget

Tags doesn't think you wish to get into valuations with him.

Anyway, you really believe being an 80% shareholder in nesn is going to bring him into the category of being financially successful?(Edit: relatively speaking - of course Tags would love to bring home millions each year :)). The cashflow from that is about $30 Million.

Tags is just saying that he's generating relatively low operating income with the Red Sox. Tags is not saying the guy is broke.

At any rate, this ties back to a ridiculous decision on Drew, and an even worse decision on Matsuzaka - From a financial perspective.

superman57

it's all tax **** and stuff too... trust me the red sox and henry are rolling in money

Tags will drop it due to the respect he has for the LL, Inc's board. Tags deals with valuations all day and will not get into a meaningless discussion about John Henry with Superman 8)

superman57

and this stuff was my major and we had classes on this the owners say that they are losing money but really the teams are just investments to them and in the end make them a lot of money

Nippon Ham is the sponsor of the team. Fighters is the mascot.

...always count on the guru to keep it real!

Or to have knowledge of something obscure, like Japanese baseball teams. :)

Wow, Reg had no idea that there were pics out on it until he did a GIS....
Unbelievable and kind of nasty.

Definately NSFW searching

where can NNR find said pictures

Dude, you must suck at internet.
How hard could it be to find it?
You would never be able to win a game of "internet scavenger hunt"

I thought only Rowan posters took part in such scavenger hunts during their work release program breaks...

Dont suck... but only found edited bleeped out versions... NNR wants to see what he dreamed about while watching the Hit me baby one more time video

a couple of things...

A.) gro's home PC (4 year old el cheapo emachine that was fine until yesterday) crapped the bed last night. Something about a hard drive failure and not recognizing the operating software. Not sure if its a virus or just old and crappy... any help here?

2.) Seriously, what is the deal with Brittney Spears? Today someone at work told me that she just signed a deal with Arby's and from now on the beef and cheddar will be called the Brittney.  I don't get it. One day she joins the army, the next day she's selling sammiches.

7.) Its friday. After today gro has a 5 day training session in the ATL, then hops on the bird to Miami. got gro's in different area codes.

Does the computer even boot up?...if so, then the data is still there and you have to find a way to get to it.Try booting in "Safe mode" to see if that allows you to boot and recognize the hard drive. You do this by holding one of the F keys when booting...i think F1 or F3.
