Holy crap Doc!!!!!

Give the kids a damn ball and put them out in the yard.   Looks like they have plenty of video gaming equipment.

And for the person who knocked the K down for the USC girls......

here is a picture of the ND cheerleaders

Dr. xGSC

17 year old dances (not that type of dancing!) 4 classes per week.

15 year old plays high level travel soccer, high school soccer, American Legion Baseball and High School Baseball.

12 year old wrestles year round.

11 year old plays high level travel soccer, high level travel baseball and little league baseball.

I need fake turf put in my front yard from the boys playing football with the neighborhood kids. Just trying to keep up with the Joneses. Seriously though, they spend more time outdoors than indoors. But, I too, like gaming and can still beat them in most of the games. Still haven't mastered Madden though as the 15 year old kicks my azz the majority of the time.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

maybe it's the ammaretto flavored coffee creamer talking here, but gro has had no problems with the cheapo PC, sans it's recent death after 4 years. Never had a cheapo laptop though.

Where's Frank Rossi with the technological breakdown?? He's already covered TV's (that one blew my mind). Gro was in the market for a new LCD TV until his computer died yesterday...

Re: Consoles
Gro and fam had the atari... but then mom and pop put the foot down and denied the nintendo for years, had to go across the street to play duck hunt!! They eventually gave in on the NES.

big big big difference between cheapo PCs and cheapo laptops. While they're both based on the concept of a mother board, processor, memory, and cards for graphics, sound, etc......it's a world of difference when you shrink the form factor to the size of a laptop. Not to sound like an engineer but issues like heat dissipation become exponentially magnified in a laptop. All these various componets being jammed into a small package make the modern laptop a complex device. To make el cheapo laptop, you need el cheapo parts.....which aren't engineered to the same specs and fundamental design characteristics

That would be a dream come true!

Interesting note for those who have children playing youth baseball. There is a bill up for vote in NJ to outlaw aluminum bats, possibly through the high school level, as a 12 year old in NJ got hit in the head with a line-drive and as a result, the father went to the local legislation and asked them to pass a bill to ban aluminum bats. His son did not die from the hit and has recovered completely. Maybe I can use the money tree I am going to cut down to make some wooden bats!

Gro,

New TV?  What about your 50" rear projection that takes up half your living room?  Were you going to throw it out or finish off your basement and make a "mens only" room out of it?

Reg knows where to get the great deals on "fireman polls" should you decide to go that route.

Reg thinks you should prune the tree to a height only you can reach, allowing MrsDr. the right to pick up a few "leaves" every now and again.
Have you seriously considered putting turf in your front yard?  That would be so hot.  You know they actually do that in places like arizona. (and in Gro's back yard, where only desert plants gro.

RE: aluminum bats
No way should kids have to use wooden bats.  While I do think using wooden bats in college MAY happen, you are really taking alot away from the sport by making the switch any earlier.

Is it because of the camera angle or is this cheerleader about 20 feet high?

He wants the flexibility of having his own computer (read -> does not want to share!). A PC would be much easier and less expensive, but since he wants it for Christmas, we are trying to make it happen. Just hard to justify $500+ for a laptop. We use Comcast for Internet service. Do laptops have wireless router capability for internet use?

Appreciate the help and +k for your reply.

Yes...most 'good' laptops have wireless (b and g) cards built in nowadays but el cheapo laptop probably won't but you can add a wireless card easily in the slot.

One last thing with the wireless, if you do indeed go that route you may want to consider encrypting it so as not to allow others to use your signal that you pay for.  Especially if you live in an apt, condo or townhouse

Gro's backyard is a wasteland... that is going to be corrected this spring (hopefully...).

Re: TV
Yeah gro has no problems with his current 50" TV, but it would be wise to sell the fitty now while it still has value and put that money into a new LCD set. Rear projection big screens are quickly becoming extinct.

RT, point taken.

gro just realizes he has a 50" TV and a green couch... or as Biggie put it:
50 inch screen, money green leather sofa (actually suede but hey)
got 2 rides a limousine and a chauffer

Gro,

Take some advice from the guy that sells the shirt off his back if someone is willing to pay enough.
Put it on Craigs list (free) to guage what people are willing to pay.  If you can get more then you think it's worth, then SELL.
Don't get stuck with two if you don't know if you can sell the first.

Just Regs 2cents.

'gro

Good advice reg.  gro won't get stuck with 2, got the 27" inch in the bedroom (courtesy of andover place apartments tampa, FL) and will be just fine with that once I sell the fitty and start looking for it's replacement.

Doc found this product out in UTAH. Pretty cool product! Now I can throw the mower and fertilizer away. What will I do with my free weekends now? Anyone have a tree pruner I can borrow?
