President Ford played in the trenches, he was center on offense and nose guard on defense.  And he played with no facemask and a leather helmet at Michigan.

KS heard about James Brown while wrapping presents for the Stalkerette about 2:30 in the morning Christmas day, KS shed a tear for the Godfather of Soul.

HEHHHH! James Brown wrote that lyric.

"In the end we will survive rather than perish not because we accumulate comfort and luxury but because we accumulate wisdom"  Colonel Jack Jacobs US Army (Ret).

Sorry for the late reply....

Bman has Vonage.  Bman thought that it would be the way to go.   Right now, Bman is contemplating booting it in the street.

Even on the new model/release, there are sometimes echos and spotty outages...also all of my calls DISCONNECT after 17 minutes....now, for my wife I feel that is a benefit, but since Bman works from home at least one day a week, this has become a problem.

Numerous calls to Achnod in India (their tech center rep in Mumbai who answers the phone as "Carl") has not helped much.....

When it works it's great, but be careful

Respectfully,

Reg actually has Vonage and as per MR it works flawlessly.  Reg actually refuses to use an old fashion style phone for multiple reasons....but mainly, why should he have to?

Reg gets mad a MR because #1 I have to get up to answer the phone.  #2 I hate checking Vm #3 if somone needs to call, WHY MR...WHY would you give them a number that you KNOW you aren't going to be at?

Ford was also an All-American and part of two National Championship teams.  He was offered contracts by both the Lions and the Packers, but chose to go to law school.  A good man, who was the only man never elected to the office of Vice President or President, but held both positions.

JT has never seen the Godfather of Soul.  Had opportunities to, but didn't get tickets.  Finally got tickets about six weeks ago to see him perform.  He was supposed to be in New Jersey on Dec 28th....

RIP

Ford wasn't actually an All-American, fwiw. That's an urban rural legend that pundits throw out there without checking the actual facts.

The NCAA doesn't list him as an All-American and the University of Michigan does not recognize him as an All-American either.

JT is usually suspect of big media, but one would think they'd get an obit correct.  JT swares he heard the AA mentioned in the media a few times already.

Pat Coleman

Sorry, man, sometimes that's what being a copy editor is all about.

Yeah, TVs are mentioning it constantly, but the AP's print obit was right on the money from the get-go. Anyone using that -- which, considering the news was released a few minutes before midnight, is probably a lot of people -- will have gotten that part right.

He doesn't have to refute it. We have historical records for that reason.

JT

JT was just a little tot, but he liked Pres. Ford.  Lil' JT thought Nixon was scary looking. JT just pulled out the James Brown tickets for the 28th.  Just looking at them is giving JT goosebumps... eerie.

Life is short, enjoy the ride.

RT would like the Guru to post a memorial announcement today on the front page of D3football.com mourning the passing of a former college football player and president...

President Ford said that he learned two things from football.  How to win with class and how to lose with dignity.

Ehh, we didn't do it for Reagan (Eureka) or Nixon (Whittier) so I'm probably not going to do it for someone who played at a D-I school. :)

Even if it is my favorite D-I school.

But we did put it on the front page of NBCSports.com before I went home last night, and that gets almost twice as many hits as D3football. :)
