Ricci Lake did not graduate from Ithaca College.

How about part-red sox and American Ski Company (now defunct I believe) owner Les Otten.

Hobart has "Shooter McGavin" from happy Gilmore to claim.

Also, the first president of Cornell, and the dood after whom Ft. Bragg is named.

Surely, The Rev is high on the list of notable alumni, but they just forgot to notice it.

JU's right.  Ricki got the boot from IC.  Urban myth has it that she got booted for possession of marijuana.  I am not passing judgment but the munchies could be responsible for this character in Ricki's past:

IC can also claim Tom Nugent, College Football Hall of Famer and former head coach at FSU.  Nugent is also credited with inventing the I-Formation.  Hopefully his alma mater will get back to using it some with a healthy fullback in 2007.

Confederate General Braxton Bragg graduated from West Point (1837), not Hobart.  Ft. Bragg was named after him.  Home of the 82nd Airborne and birthplace of the infamous JT.

However, Horace Webster another West Point (1818) grad founded both Hobart and the City College of NY.

However, Horace Webster another West Point (1818) grad founded both Hobart and the City College of NY.

The Bragg who attended Hobart was Edward.

After being admitted to the bar in 1848, Bragg began his own practice in his hometown of Unadilla before moving to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1850. Three years later, he was elected district attorney and later delegate to the Democratic National Convention at Charleston in 1860.

Bragg joined the Union Army as a captain in the Sixth Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry in 1861 and eventually, after many promotions, was given command of what was known as the "Iron Brigade." He became brigadier general of volunteers in 1864. He left the army in October of 1865, returned to Wisconsin and was appointed postmaster of Fond du Lac in 1866 by President Andrew Johnson. Bragg was a member of the state senate, a three-term delegate to the Democratic National Convention, and served various terms as a democrat in Congress.

He resumed his private practice in Wisconsin in 1886 until he was appointed Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Mexico in 1888 and later was counsel general for Havana, Cuba until 1902. Bragg also served as counsel general in Hong Kong until his retirement in May of 1906.

He is known for the following quote from his nominating speech for Grover Cleveland at the Democratic Convention of 1884: "They love him, gentlemen, and they respect him, not only for himself, but for his character, for his integrity and judgment and iron will; but they love him most for the enemies he has made."

Speaking of remarkable alums, one Hobart alum will have a lot of interest in the BCS title game (as in Urban Meyer's boss).

No, not him either.  I think is was an actor or singer or someone that mentioned that they went to RPI on TV.  Of course the first thing on my mind after that was to notify LLPP asap. (which I apparently didnt do)

It could have been a hockey player or just one of my friends cousins or something stupid like that. I cant remember exactly.

AUPepBand

Alfred graduated one Robert Klein in 1962, although Klein probably is not too quick to boast of his alma mater as, during his time at AU, his efforts at comedy met a "tough crowd."

Alfred graduated noteworthy author Peter Jenkins of "Walk Across America" fame. In fact, AUPepBand played volleyball with Jenkins on the Village Green during quiet summers in Alfred, with his dog Cooper watching from the sidelines.

Speaking of authors, best-selling international spy novelist Robert Littell is an AU grad as is his brother Alan Littell of Alfred, whose son Harry Littell is a noted photographer in Ithaca whose "Ithaca Then and Now" and "Cornell Then and Now" are recent works.

Then there's Clarence Spicer, inventor of the universal joint in its application to the automobile, who attended Alfred in the late 1890s, and whose invention while studying under the tutelage of Robert Thornton at Cornell got the American automobile industry on the road. His Spicer Manufacturing Company begun in 1904 evolved into what is now the Dana Corporation headquartered in Toledo, OH.

There's a few of Alfred's contributions to the world that come to mind.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Its funny, the great John D. Rockefeller grew up in a small town right next to Ithaca called Richmond before moving to Moravia (another town that could make RTs lists, and is also the home of former US president Millard Fillmore)  All this history talk reminded me of the drives up to Ithaca through Richmond where one of those little blue and yellow signs that are throughout upstate NY saying it was the birthplace of JDR.  But man, there is absoutly nothing in Richmond, nothing.
