my super bowl picks are the colts and saints...Brady got lucky last week....the colts won't get all the unsportsmanlike penaltys  and come on how can you root against the saints....I mean it's like Utica winning the NCAA's or even an ECAC next year

However, I'm cynical, and I wouldn't put it past the NFL to help the Saints along in getting to/winning the Super Bowl.

BC, will you stop with the conspiracy theorys already!!!
How is the NFL going to help the saints win?....let them wear longer cleats?....Feed their competitors a bad breakfast?...pump them full of juice?

Give Reg a break with the cynical BS.

Gro wouldn't mind a SB win by the colts, bears, or saints (in any order).   The pats are like a cross between the bulls and spurs in the NBA.  The media constantly swings off Brady/Belichicks nads just like Jordan/Jackson.  And like the spurs, the pats are BORING.  Not that the pats are a bad team, they put it all together and that was cool back in 2001, but if the Cheifs ain't in it (um... every year pretty much) then gro at least wants to cheer for an interesting team.

Re: saints

new coach, new offensive system, new pro bowl caliber QB to run said system, reggie bush adds depth and variety to the offense.... PLUS the fact that all 3 other teams in their division (tampa, atlanta, carolina) simultaneously crapped the bed in '06.

What they did is not impossible, they went 10-6... which is slightly above average. Some years a 10 win team doesn't even make the playoffs.  if they went 13-3 then I'd have Jack Bauer on the celly to figure things out.

What the hell is wrong with you?  'Brady got lucky'?  Give me a break.  He had a bad game, but was clutch when he needed to be.  Just like he always is.

The Patriots are NOT boring.  They are tactical.  'Gro, the Chiefs and their 0 First Downs in the first half against Indy is boring.  Separated at birth Herm Edwards and Tony Dungy are boring.  Peyton Manning and all of his stupid commercials is boring.  Jeff Garcia is boring.

The Bears?  Not boring.  The Saints?  Not boring, but not as good as they've played.  The Chargers?  Not boring, unless it's the playoffs, and Marty plays to not lose, rather than to win...as usual.

You guys b!tch and moan about how the media 'constantly swings off Brady/Belichicks nads'.  Of course they do!  The cast of characters on that team has changed SO much since 2001, and they continue to get it done.  They have successfully dealt with more injuries, loss of players to bigger contracts, retirements, coaches leaving, etc etc etc, yet they still continue with the same culture and formula, and it works.  They should get that media respect, because the rest of the NFL should take notice.  How did Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder and those clowns fare trying to buy talent?  Did not paying Deion Branch make a difference?  Nope.  Vinatieri is one of the biggest heroes in sports history, and they have fared pretty well without him, so far anyway.  They lost Dan Koppen, David Givens, David Patten, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, Willie McGinest, Damien Woody, so on and so on...All guys they couldn't do without, and here they are again.

SO hate all you want.  Bitch about the Giants, and Bills, and Chiefs, and Eagles, and whoever else, losing games that they shouldn't have, and show some respect where it's due.  You don't have to like them, but putting them down as 'lucky' or 'boring', unless it obviously makes you sleep better, really is retarded.

My prediction?  Pats 24 - Bears 7

hate to break up this wonderful (boring, like the pats) convo, but big things are going on in office land.  The GM is moving to another plant and some office reshuffling has begun... gro might be in for a new patch of office real estate.

LD you beat me to it.  Lucky!?!?!  He didnt even have a good game and then he went down and came up with 4 clutch throws for 2tds a 2pt conversion and a big play to set up the last fg.

And the media doesnt really swing on bradys nuts as much as they should.  If they did, then you wouldnt have had 90% of all analysts picking the chargers last week, or even the jets the week before..

This is the ultimate example of why Reg dislikes any team from the boston area so bad.  Noone is allowed to say anything negative about the team without people diving to the rescue and defending said team as it is their god given duty.

I mean come on guys....loosen up a bit.....

If someone trash talked a school like RPI, I would acknowledge their point and either leave it be or try to give my viewpoiint.....

To a Boston fan, it is like you guys shower us with how your teams are the best teams to ever play the game and when somoene tells you that they like someone else, you cover your ears screaming "LA LA LA LA, I cant hear you" crap an 8 year old would pull.
So in general, I don't dislike Brady...because I bet he is a pretty cool cat....I dislike the fans point of views.

Touchdown Tommy

...REG calls LD11, U89, and Jonny U to the carpet
Chasing MILFs since '82...

Funny how they are pretty quiet about the Celtics and Bruins...

That's bullsh!t.  Like whoever you want.  If you have a valid point, then make it.  But no one has made a valid point.  The Patriots are lucky.  The Patriots are boring.  Brady sucks.  Sound a little subjective to me.  The OBJECTIVE part, is that they won 3 Super Bowls in 5 years...and counting...and are in the AFC Championship again.  I don't care who you like.  THat's what fans are for, but idiotic statements like Superman saying Brady sucks, well thats just moronic.  I mean, I say Jeter is gay, but I wouldn't say he sucks.  I could argue that people are better, and give good arguments, but to say he's lucky or he sucks(at baseball, not Johnny's Fungo Bat), that would be retarded, like most of what i've read.

Because they suck, I can't stand either right now.  They have no heart.  And they need Bellichick to coach them.

Then again, the entire NBA is a waste of time, and LD11 has NEVER been a hockey fan.
