So RT has the tv repairman from Best Buy here this am. RT has had his LCD 53" HD proection tv repaired 5 times in the last 2 years. RT keeps demanding a new tv.....he tells the best buy guy today "this is the last time RT buys a Samsung". The Best Buy gives RT his best 'you are an idiot' look and says "This TV is a Toshiba'

ZING!!!!.................

Rt,

What is happening with said terd?  Does it not work at all?
Best buy should have it in the contract that if they have to come out more than 3 or 4 times that they replace said tv with equivilent TV for free.

Have you talked to them?

TVman just left. He checked w/ BB's main office...RT has had 4 visits. RT is getting a refund for full value of TV!!! Can someone please tell RT what kind of nice HD larger screen he should look at in the $1500-2000 range?

TGP has a 50-something" Sony Wega Projection (HDTV compat blah blah) model that we are very happy with.  Lil Pumpkin is currently watching the movie "Cars" on it right now (for the 124th time).

allow me to hate on.
#1 you get LESS screen for the money w/plasma
#2 CTQ's smeeteequeues....you have to see the difference yourself to make the call.

#3 please tell Reg you are mounting this thin on the wall..

Touchdown Tommy

Touchdown T has some firsthand knowledge to drop on the LLPP, INC.  First, bought a 42" Samsung Plasma  720p from Best Buy on 1-2-07.  Brought it home, set it up, and the picture was downright awful.  I had red and green lines going across it and it was blotchy (especially on people's faces) and there was a "delay/pause" when you switched channels.  HOWEVER, I didn't have a digital cable box yet (2 week wait for Comcast to come out) so I was just getting the regular analog package from the condo association which is like 80 channels.  So I am thinking hey maybe it just needs the cable box and we'll be good to go.  Well the cable dood comes to set up the box and says ut-oh this baby is defective.  No way it should be acting up like this straight outta the box....So TDT returned the set and got a new replacement from BB (but obviously not without much hassle and angst).  The new set works terrific and I am quite pleased with it.  I personally can't tell the difference (nor do I believe that most people will be able to from 720p to 1080p once they get the tv setup at home).

Apparently the TERD TVs are about 1 in a 100 and usually occur bc of being put on their side or laid down (messes up the color bands, etc.).  I'd try to buy from a local electronics store instead of a big box retailer (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) unless the price difference is astronomical.  You'll get better customer service and peace of mind.  RT: If the room takes in lots of light you definitely wanna get an LCD.  Plasma's don't have that reflective coating to fight off glare.  Also, don't let the azz clowns talk you into the HDMI cables that cost 3 hundo bucks.  A more cost effective set of cables will do just fine (but still HDMI).

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Ok LLPP - final picks for SB XLI:

TGP takes Da Bearz in a close one 20-17.  Special teams, defense, and a better run game will put Chicago on top.

rex the hex shows up... Indy 34-21 Addai starts the game off with a couple of good runs and then peyton picks apart the Chi town d

Colts 30-24 ya heard?  that's 3 FGs and 3 TDs for indy... no safeties.  Reg picked a safety because he wants to run around his house doing the signal.

PBR...

pbr has to root for da bears as he could not stand to see peyton, dad, eli having a group hug at midfield after a colts win!!! it would make pbr puke!!

realistic

I got the colts...by 2 TD's.

'gro

marvin harrison and dwight freeny... former syracuse orangemenssss. 3 other cuse players on the colts but they don't start. Plus coach Dungy is a class act, even though his name rhymes with grungy... Gro picks colts.
