Sir Spiedie

Out of conference report: Spiedie notes that Tiel put on a very nice Thiel Visits Florida night  at one of the resorts at Buena Vista (close to Disney).

Spiedie is sure one of the alumni LLers would be willing to be sent to Orlando to "represent", but , then again, maybe not.....  ::)

Garnet

anyone see this cheap shot inlast night's game??

Note to Spiedie - Mrs. TGP is in Orlando at the moment, TGP is not b/c of "having to work".

BTW - Bart came down to FLA for events in Jupiter and Mars (TGP means Naples) back in January.  Not FB related though, just trying to squeeze some checks from the alumni base for the latest capital campaign.

Hobart 2007 Schedule

Sep.
8 at Dickinson
15 Carnegie Mellon
22 *Rensselaer
29 * at WPI

Oct.
6 * at Susquehanna
13 *Merchant Marine
20 *St. Lawrence
27 Alfred

Nov.
3 * at Union
10 * at Rochester

Asterix denote LL games.

P.P.S.  Isn't Carnegie-Mellon an interesting choice?

Interesting to see that Bart's non-conf games are all in PA (except for Alfred, of course. Then again if you go to Alfred, you might as well be in PA or you wouldn't be able to tell the difference either way).

The CMU move seems to follow Bart's "strategy" of playing schools like look better in the admissions office than on the football field, although TGP will admit that CMU had a great season last year and will be a tough match up.

Still, TGP would rather see Bart schedule a game against Ithaca, Fisher, or Springfield than some PA school (even a PA school that went to the NCAAs).

PBR...

pbr wants a dvc(another pa school) vs. 'bart showdown....that way if tgp wants he  can wing into town and we can take in the game

JT mentioned Frank Rossi.  Can't remember everyone off the top of the head.  Forgot RT and a few others too.

If it's anything like the last time DVC and Bart squared off (in the NCAAs), TGP would love to be there.  That last game was a classic (even though Bart lost).

BC08 figured this would be the best place to ask this question.
BC's sig other and BC have tickets to the Boston Red Sox for Apr. 11, the second home game of the season, against the Seattle Mariners, at Fenway.
BC08 has never seen a game in Boston, and would like to know if any of the guys on the board would know about any good hotels to stay at, the best place to park, riding in on the "T" or anything that would be useful to BC's first Fenway experience.

'gro

unless they pull off another 6-4 season they will be known as the Utica Moose Muffins...

'gro

BC08, the best thing to do would be to party all night after the game then ride the T at 5am while everyone else is going to work. Good times.

BudCrew: TDT has made the trip to Fenway multiple times from the Midwest.  Depending on your budget and/or tastes I'd recommend staying at the Marriott Copley Place or the Westin Copley.  Both very nice and centrally located in downtown Boston.  You can take the T to the Kenmore Square stop which is just a short ride or walk to Fenway up Newbury Street.  Lots going on around the ballpark as LD11 and U89 and JonnyUtah could certainly tell you.  TDT hasn't spent much time in the surrounding establishments which include the Boston Beerworks, Cask n Flagon, and a few seedy strip clubs beyond the Green Monster.
Chasing MILFs since '82...

Garnet

JT, Garnet was just busting your chops.  Garnet knows there is a lot of love on this board.  We have a great group here.  It would be even better if we had some new blood from the other LL schools not yet being represented.

Wicked doooood!

TGP guarantees you'll love the Fens.  The previously mentioned suggestions are all good ones.  You can pahk ya cah near the ballpahk too if you want, but expect to pay a pretty price for it.

Don't be afraid of the local massholes either.  For the most part we're hahmless.

-Hotels- this all depends.  Most hotels right in the city can range from 100-400 bucks.  Id go to expedia and you should be able to find one right in the city for around 100.

-Bars-  Baseball tavern was just done over two years ago as was the cask and flagon.  Boston beer works is good but a little touristy.  Id go to the baseball tavern on Boylston St.

Parking.- If you drive early enough there is a lot right next to the park on Brookline Ave.  I think parking is usually 20-30 bucks.  Its a zoo right before and after the game though.  If you stay in the city take the train its easy.
